  • Dave’s totally up my alley. I’d be his “assistant” any day!! Shame I’m married!! ;)
  • Good for you! :)
  • I personally eat a lot of sprouts, but bean sprouts are definitely toxic FOR ME. They send me running to the bathroom. They have that effect on many people. I really don’t buy it about other types of sprouts however. Happy sprouting!!
  • Why not make your own sprouted grain raw bread? It takes a few days to make which might slow down your consumption. I like kamut bread a lot. I made rye a couple weeks ago, but the flavor was too strong – next time I’ll blend it with another grain. …
  • This topic has inspired me to get a cleaning done. I have naturally great teeth and haven’t had a cavity since my teens, but the last time I went for a cleaning I had a butcher for a hygienist, so it put me off for a long time (two years!!). Now I h…

  • My experience with the MC was very positive. It was emotionally empowering in many ways and helped me tone up a bit (I’ve actually kept off some of the weight I lost, although I didn’t do it for the weight loss). Does it really help your body detox?…
  • I buy flax seeds and grind them in a coffee mill then store them in the freezer. Once ground they reputedly go rancid rather quickly.
  • I believe it’s fundamental to find time for oneself to just relax and have something to eat, even on the go. Either at a park or at the desk – wherever. We need fuel to help us go. Your body is craving energy food in the evening that it’s not gettin…
  • It could be used to substitute rice. I’ve tossed it with pesto, cherry tomatoes and arrugala – delicious! I also make flat bread with it using either my radiator (still going!!) or my oven on 115
  • I love foraging, but wouldn’t have the guts to eat foraged mushrooms. It’s really common to forage for them here in Italy, but I know a whole family that died from intoxication…so sad. Just be EXTREMELY CAREFUL.
  • Krystale, Just curious, but what does being Catholic have to do with shaving above the knee? Here in Italy most women have their whole legs waxed. You never see a half hairy leg. Almost everyone’s Catholic here.
  • I pretty much go au naturel in wintertime and the rest of the time do as many Italians do – Epilady. Pits and legs. I’m not at all a furry critter, but my hubby doesn’t like pit fur. Epilady’s painful the first time, then afterwards it’s more of a t…
  • I love running too, especially for its psychological effects and the fact that it forces me to get outdoors in winter. Good luck heartshapedsky on the marathon!! Wow. I’m reading PACE right now, which kinda blunts your love of running, because it co…

  • Nuts contain substances that prevent them from spontaneously sprouting, that way they can wait until the time is right to sprout and therefore have a better chance at surviving and becoming a plant- they wait for rain. So when you soak them sufficie…

  • Another suggestion, make really creamy almond milk, like 1 cup almonds to 1 cup water or less and add some of that. It should still solidify that way.
  • I suppose you could mix the hydrogen peroxide into the boiling water, but I tend to do either or. Once I boil, once I soak – but everyday I put it out into the sunlight. Thanks for the burger idea. I guess it really depends what veggies you put into…
  • I boil my milk bags and soak them in a little hydrogen peroxide, then I put them out on the balcony for the sun to sterilize them. Good question about the pulp. I’ve seen uses for crackers by you don’t have a dehydrator. I don’t either, but I get al…
  • I’m so sorry for both of you M@tt and bluebells. Having someone close to you go through something like this is heart wrenching.
  • I had quite a bit of yucca when I lived in Puerto Rico. It was boiled though. It’s really starchy and I couldn’t see how it would be good eaten raw. Maybe it could be ground into a paste for a dip or something…

  • I made some sprouted rye raw manna bread a couple days ago. Next time I do it it’ll be without only rye, maybe mixed grains. Yes, it does cause gas! At least for me!
  • Time off is definitely needed. I once broke my knee cap (unrelated to running) and found that the absolute best way to help rebuild it was bicycling. But what you need now is rest and ice.
  • This sounds worth trying Ardesmond2. I’m always so disappointed in my raw soups. I’ve just kinda given up.
  • I had to laugh about what you wrote about keeping cats away. My cat HATES lemons but especially oranges. She swats at them and attacks them!

  • The moons are visible, but I definitely think there might be some mineral and even Vitamin D difficiency. I’ve been getting loads more sun this winter compared to previous years (when I had a 9-5 job), but hopefully this will grow out and never come…
  • Marichiesa, the lines are pretty much on all fingernails. Not huge, but not at all faint. I don’t have any on these nails: left pinkie, right thumb and middle. I’ve been diagnosed anemic once. Maybe I should get more blood work done…
  • Ok so there aren’t any ridges, but there are many horizonal lines. Some multiple ones on single nails. I don’t have any nail trauma or cuticle issues at all. This is definitely something I’m interested in, Marichiesa! Any help is welcome.
  • Thanks for the link. I don’t think it’s the result of trauma since I’ve got 12 of them (just counted!) and don’t remember having banged them. That said, I’m definitly going though some serious detox right now, so it could be that. Maybe I’ll start c…
  • I personally can’t give you any help, but I just read this topic where chia seeds subbed flax. Give it a try: http://www.goneraw.com/forums/2/topics/4604
