  • I appreciate the apology. We all have outside stressors and environmental factors that cause our moods to change or for us to act in a way that we feel bad about later on. If we didn't understand, we'd be pretty isolated ourselves. Don't worry - we …
  • Hey, hang in there and directly email one of us if you can or want to. I'm sorry that you're ill and the kids are ill. Eat plenty of fruit and greens!!!!! Really. And drink water. :) My nephew had the flu and he's okay. He's 5. You can handle it - j…
  • Green juices definitely do help!
  • I have had breakouts this past week or two as well and not just hormonal. I'm thinking the weather change but not sure if that's right for everyone. I also wasn't getting enough sleep (have loud neighbors). I'm working on getting my skin back to bea…
  • That's not true. Maybe you feel better with overts but some people feel better without. Of course they eat plenty of greens, though.
  • Some 80/10/10ers eat no overts but others will eat 1/3 of an avocado per day or 1 oz. nuts (or less).
  • "Variety" isn't necessarily a good thing for our systems each day or each meal; eating simply can be a good thing.
  • No, but maybe dried fruit would stick to your teeth? Can you rinse with water after you eat fruit? Are you eating enough greens for minerals?

  • Probably salt and fat. You can try eating more fruit to satisfy your hunger? Or just limit yourself to 2 T. of the tahini mixture.

  • If you want to eat it, eat it, but please don't just focus on taste and supposed health benefits of a weaned creature drinking a milk - don't forget the ethical issues involved of taking another species' child's milk away from him/her, or another an…
  • My opinion remains the same, but I don't adopt anyone else's rephrasing of my post.
  • If your success depends on another person, then YOU are not ready to be raw. This has nothign to do with him. But if you don't want to be with him, don't be with him. You don't need an excuse or our help. Good luck!
  • All right, "comprehensive" wasn't the right word but i hope that makes a little sense.
  • I am not totally comprehensive of food combining, but my understanding is that it's not ideal. That said, you can certainly do it!!! See how you feel. :)
  • That sounds like too many different kinds of foods in the stomach at one time. Red bell pepper and tomato - nonsweet fruits Mushroom - fungus (not recommended on 80/10/10) Spinach - tender leafy Celery - fibrous vegetable, can eat with fruit Caulifl…
  • My recommendation that I think is most important is to always have ripe, fresh fruit around. Be mindful of stores around you and what kind of fruit they have and whether it's good and the prices. You can never have too much fruit on 80/10/10. :) Get…
  • I think more fruit will help. Don't limit your fruit!!
  • My salads were huge before going raw, too. At least 10 cups of greens each.
  • Spinach and other leafy greens. Mango
  • mmmm, sounds good, 59.
  • Honestly, I would eat the spinach plain or add a little lemon or lime juice. Or do a green smoothie. Adding all of this fat and processed oils to the spinach negates (IMO) the health effect you would have had from eating it in the first place!
  • 80/10/10 doesn't advocate "little greens" - it advocates greens in abundance, the tender, leafy, easy-to-digest variety. I agree with 59 that as soon as you get rid of that fat, you'll feel better eating fruit, which will give you the energy and nut…
  • How fun! 1: What country are you from? USA 2: What's your occupation? Court Reporter 3: How long have you been Raw? 1.75 years 4: Favourite Film? ? 5: If you were invisble for the day, what would you do? Assuming I could also fly, go see my family (…
  • I don't think bread needs a replacement - I think people would have been better off if they never had it in the first place. Dehydrated foods are just that - dehydrating. If you want to be as healthy as possibly, you will not add sodium/salt to your…
  • Some people never touch greens in their life and while not healthy, they're fine. I think temporarily not eating them is good if they make you queasy or don't sound appetizing. If a couple weeks go by and turn into a month, I'd at least try to get s…
  • Becoming Vegan is not really raw-based, but it's a good book for nutrition info. I have never seen an omnivore with a more nutrient-rich diet than I, so I have to laugh when they try to give me advice.
  • Hmm. I don't know. I'd wait and see what tomorrow brings. If you have this problem tomorrow, just water fast for half a day and see if whatever is causing the problem works itself out.
  • I don't think our bodies are geared for dehydrating and acidic things like nuts and foregoing sweet fruit. But if you want to try it, do what you like......I wouldn't expect to feel well on such a high-fat diet.
  • When I first started high raw, it was a soy latte (decaf but obviously still has caffeine). Now I don't consider cooked food a treat. It's a last resort if I haven't obtained enough calories from raw, like at an airport that has no fruit (believe it…
  • Wow, I can't imagine having so little to spend on food. Can you get another job or something? How are you getting any nutrition? Beans and rice might be cheap, but they don't have many nutrients, and are both acid-forming and inflammation-producing.
