hey play mates! thought id tell you the tale of the hunch butt of notradame (aka stupid is and stupid does) I spent last night in the emergency room of the hospital being injected with all kinds of dye and cat scanned with in an inch of my poor raw life! It was a day of firsts for me,first fall off my horse in 13 years of riding her, first fainting spell, first ambulance ride and first catscan! yesterday was my biweekely trail ride with clients, thats where we all meet at someones home and go trail riding on our various beasts…a traveling lesson if you will. Since they are all clients its great for support as they are no surrounded by the general horse riding public..they get to actually improve the training on their animal instead of just surviveing the experience…any how one of them forgot an integral peice of equiptment so i lent her mine and forfeited my saddle, riding instead on a bareback pad (that i ride in at home all the time)APPLY THE STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES TITLE HERE Well we had gone on our ride and where on the way home when my horse hit a gopher hole and i met with a large splat on the hard pac we were traversing. luckily, i thought to myself at the time, i landed on my right hip/butt cheek..but as i limped back to our trailers opting for stretching the muscles out, i notice a large hematoma forming on my ass cheek,sure enough upon inspection in the bathroom not only is the hematoma filling with blood /fluid, as i looked at it, i have a god awful case of road rash too, now how that happens without shreding your breeches i dont know but it did so i make my early good byes and get home asap, by the time i get home an hour later this hematoma is huge, JLo, junk in the trunk, HUGE! so i show my hubby(who cant get over the dumb assness of my desicion to give away integral equiptment) and he plys me with advil,ugh, and arnica gel…i laydown…4 hours later i get up to pee and the next thing i know the ambulance is hauling me down town to the hospital! i guess all the oxygen in the ambulance makes me feel great cause between yacking my guts out i talk about raw food and being a emt with the ambulance guy….my blood pressure is hovering around 89 over 55 and everyone is running in circles trying figure out if im bleeding internally..well two cat scans later, with visits from every freaking doctor- in-training at the hospital, i became know as the gal with the third ass cheek! comedians ,all of them! anyhow ill psot a pic of the beautiful colors later when i can figure out how to present it without being pornographic..let me tell you it is immpressive, horrifyingly immpressive! im fine but will be moving really slow for the forseeable future…had to share,;0) there are hospital stories from my 8 hours in there that will be foder for much amusement later now i gotta go lay down and rub arnica on my butt!
Johney Dep picking crud out of his toe nails would be fine by me, the man is brilliant and like jenergy ive been a fan since 21 jump street..the sweeney todd movie was phenom! i have the sound track on my ipod…ill be getting the dvd for my collection too, the dead bodys hitting the cememt…well, that was one awesomely tummy churning bit of movie magic if you ask me!!!

I was with my niece for the majority of the day. She is 3 1/2 and already has a nutty sense of humour. Her folks have a little electrictronic piano, that you can record sounds into. So we had a blast making fart noises and saying silly words, and then playing them back in various pitches. Mary had a little Lamb in fart is quite hilarious. She is just a little doll and shares the same wierd sense of humour as her dad and her autie!
Then I pushed her on the swing for an hour. They never get sick of that! I wanted to go back and play fart songs! ;) Oh well.
Well, ‘The Revenge of the Sith’ is on TV, so I’m gonna say bye till tomorrow!

mornin all! feeling really bad, everything hurts! and my system is all outa whack! not hungry and making my self drink lots of water…ugh going to lay down now! by the way my blood sugar was elivated at the hosp and my blood count low…they kept asking if i was anemic….any thoughts? ice never had a problem with either! sigh, merd!
om~ Sorry to hear about your accident. Getting some massages might help speed up healing as well as dramatically increasing nutrition. The sooner the better… Feel better soon.
Om, anemic!? Hmmm, I am sure you get enough dark green leafies. Are there two punture marks on your neck? ;) In all seriousness, I am sorry you arn’t feeling well, but I really don’t know what advice to give. maybe just dose up on green juices and green smoothies today. Really infuse your bod with green goodness. Just pick low glycimic fruits though.

I feel a bit slugish today. I have only been about 75% raw for the last few days, and am now paying for it. So it’s lots of green smoothies for me today. Gotta dose up on raw!!
OMSHANTI - Oh, about massage, it would help if there is any jolting trauma to the muscles of the back and neck. I say if, well there is certainly trauma to those muscles. No massage therapist in their right mind should touch that bum cheek of yours. You probably would kill them if they tried anyway. Anyhow, this is what I do for a living, In Ontario, you have to go through 3 years of school to become a massage therapist, and then you have to go through a 500 question examination, and then practical examination (NERVE WRACKING!) before you can be licenced to practice. So, here I am 8 years later. 10 years is a really long run for most massage therapists, so i feel like I am working on borrowed time here. Knock on wood, i can’t believe I havn’t gotten carpal tunnel or some other RSI.
So, again, a massage for the surrounding muscles probably wouldn’t hurt!:)

om – not fun! :( Low red blood cell count? Kelp has lots of iron and usually helps if you are anemic. Young coconut water for getting something in you? Lots of electrolytes, etc. and is helpful if you have lost blood – or if your blood is hiding out in your bum cheek? ;D If you get nauseated at the coconut water and/or food, try some ginger tea. When I was sick a couple of months ago, I went back and forth between sips of ginger tea and young coconut water and then nothing for a while, then tea again, etc. until I could handle regular food the next day. Hope you feel better soon. :)
st – My parents are sick of trying to eat healthy, I think. My dad’s new schedule has changed things a lot around here. My mom said the other day that she is frustrated not knowing what to eat, because she thinks she should eat more of the raw food, but she doesn’t want it. She also is used to making dinner at night but now my dad is going to work, so she doesn’t have a reason to make dinner. She ends up just nibbling/snacking on things throughout the day and never really sits down to eat. She says she is about ready to just go back to cooking meat and potatoes all the time. I have tried to give her ideas, but nothing sounds good to her, even the non-raw stuff. I have convinced and helped her to start making her whole-grain muffins and waffles more often, and yesterday she decided to make french toast out of the whole-grain bread I got her buying a while back. My dad still hasn’t tried the snacks that om sent, even though he said he would try a few of them. He has been buying candy and stuff, too, and he is eating meat, but he is still making a big smoothie or eating fresh fruit every day. I only told him to quit chips and soda for now, and he has eaten chips a couple of times and hasn’t bought soda unless maybe when he went out once. I know it is hard to make major changes, so I didn’t ask/tell him to give up everything at once. If he keeps up with the fruit, that’s good enough for now, and maybe when he’s used to that for a while, then he’ll be ready for another change. My mom I think would be happy with more raw food – her body seems ready – if I made her plenty of stuff to choose from. I’m looking for good/simple ideas and meanwhile trying to focus her attention to more vegetarian cooked dishes so she won’t keep cooking meat every meal out of habit or lack of ideas. :) Baby steps! I didn’t realize until we talked the other day that she hadn’t eaten meat for several days! :)

Strawberry I totally agree with you about TV. My husband will have the thing on just for background noise, drives me bonkers. I’ve finally gotten my son off of cartoons (like saying I got him off crack, hehe) and he’s decided they’re not “cool” anymore. Yay.
Angie good luck with your parents! My mom is a health nut and always has been, but we’re meeting with resistance from dad. Unfortunately it took a major cancer scare to get him to even be willing to TRY raw (and just healthier) foods, but fortunately he is becoming more willing. It’s very hard to reprogram a lifetime of learning what to eat and why, and there really are feelings of anxiety around it. I think it’s beautiful that you’re gently guiding your parents along a healthier path. You’re obviously a really loving daughter (and mom)!
Ardes, has your daughter gone to your sister’s yet? How are you & Mrs. Ardes handling that? My son is 10 and he’s NEVER been away for that long… we’re just now starting on the overnights thing, and I have a heart attack every time he wants to ride his bike around the block by himself. Uh… overprotective much?? Yeah, that’s me. Deep breaths, it’ll all be just fine. It’s WAY harder on the parents than on the kid, I think. ;o)

angie, folks can be frustrating. Sheesh, they think they know best or something. HA. My parents eat pretty darn healthy. No red meat, no pork, but they do eat salmon and ‘bawk bawk’ every so often. My dad would love to be veg. but he is useless in the kitchen, and eats what my mom puts in front of his face. Oh well. I wish they would go raw! Oh well!

Oh, happy happy. My seedlings have sprouted!!! This is the first time I have tried starting my own plants. I have little kale buddies, little cuccumber buddies, and my basil is just string to peak out. No sign of my peppers as of yet. hopefully they come up! :)
Hay I still watch cartoons. SpongeBob rocks! Part of it is nostalgia. We have a retro cartoon network, and I sometimes tune in to the old Bugs Bunny and Roadrunner show, and of course Rocky and Bullwinkle! Love it! But that’s when kids didn’t live in front of the TV.
OK Luna, you got me there… I like Spongebob too. He’s so darn cute. But really my favorite is Patrick. ;o)
But there are some twisted cartoons out there nowadays. I mean, I’m definitely not uptight or prudish (at ALL, lol) but I just don’t like my kid watching some of that stuff. I want to keep him innocent for as long as possible, I guess. That and the fact that he was completely GLUED to the tv when they were on. I think they must put subliminal messages in cartoons… waaaaatch mooooorrrre caaaarrrtoooooonssss… hehe. Joke. Sort of.
Seedlings are fun, aren’t they? I get all excited when they start coming up. And whenever I successfully sprout something. It’s like magic! :o)

It IS like magic! I think it’s the greatest thing when thisngs come to life. I am coxing my basil, but I feel kinda guilty, cos’ I am going to end up eating it when it does grow. I feel like I am being shifty with the poor basil. ‘Come on, it’s great out here, nothing to be afraid of’ (just pesto.) har har!:)
I just went to Costco with a friend of mine and another girl, and I can’t believe how different I used to think about what I ate. Watching them drool over chocolate cakes and cheesecakes and ice cream and white bread/sugar treats, I thought later how I can’t believe people think that stuff is food! The ironic thing is that they were looking at me that same way when I told them about making raw dim sum and how frozen pizzas hold absolutely no appeal for me. :D
hey guys, thanks or all the well wishes, im feeling better but not looking any better, bet it will be months before i can fit into jeans! ugh, im already dreaming about doing yoga..can you tell im a horrible patient. my hubb called to check on me today and im down at the barn willing the critters to be quiet as i fib and say im resting in the house, i almost got away with it to but one of the little buggars whineyed! busted! hahhah well ill stick with iceying it and heat and Blue, massage is a great idea when i dont feel like it would frighten someone half to death.0)
luna and jenergy, you guys and cartoons, im not a tv gal anymore, used to be big time with ex hubby, we had our shows….yuck anyhow now outside of movie night i am blissfully free of the boob tube but when i did watch, i liked witchy poo and marvin martian w daffy for classic cartooon and ren and stimpy for the newer rot! ” you bloated eeediot” horrifyingly watchable! my hubby is a southpark, family guy fan and they have their moments i guess…. stewie gets grins from me occationally and i do have “kyles moms a bitch” on my ipod!teehee anyhoo that kitty shark is to much, luna, very funny!har har and so is the coaxing your basil so you can bite its little head off and nibble at its tiny feet(mama catz quote)
angie, well it is baby steps and you know what, im jsut glad that they are able to be around you so that your good example may influence them at some point, everyone has their own path,its creepy what people think smells and taste good isnt it? I was out with friend last week and i swear something smelled putrid to me and they where like, ooo, that smells great lets go for barBQ ! eeegh, makes my skin crawl! while i was at the hospital i got to witness some hospital food, no wonder people stay sick there, they where serving cottage cheese with grapes and cantalope….ewwwww and the “salad” was three big croutons, one cherry tomatoe and less than a cup of wilted romaine, but at least a cup of blue chees dressing! amazing!

angie I totally agree with you, ug, gross. You almost feel sorry for people who are missing out on raw! Even fresh delivery pizza, from a little place near my home, holds no appeal anymore. It’s all just so dull. It’s like eating in black and white, and then all of a sudden, techniclour (raw) is invented and wow! Vibrant and living colourfull tastes!
I have to stop indulging my cooked food fantasies. Really, it never lives up to the hype! i was 100% today, and hopefully from now on again. I have to just remember that cooked is just not worth it!! Blah, boring and dull.
Well I guess it was just pretty much the 3 of us playing today. it’s good though, I think we each have something in common with each other. I think jenergy and i were seperated at birth!

om – Yeah, I had the same thing yesterday – I was visiting a friend and there was a smell outside that made me sick, and yet somehow I thought it was supposed to somehow relate to food? Weird – I couldn’t figure it out. Then my friend smells it and says that it smells like a barbecue and he is almost drooling over it! I was amazed that I really couldn’t figure out how that gross smell was supposed to relate to food, yet somehow my brain was telling me that it used to make that connection for me! I just laughed at how my tastes and thinking have changed :D HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
Luna – nice analogy about tasting in black and white versus the color of living foods! :) It was funny, because my friend asked me how I could stand to walk into Costco with all the lovely frozen pizzas and the like, and still eat so healthy! I was thinking, it’s not hard to walk past cardboard to get to the food! :) (fruits and vegetables are about the only things I buy at Costco) It’s nice to get on here and share stuff like this with people who understand and don’t look at me like I’m a martian for eating grain, fruit, nuts and vegetables.
strawberry, glad your son did well in his wisdom tooth yanking…miserable stuff that! i feel ya about the anti biotics, on one hand do we need this on the other are we createing a possible misery for our selves with a massive infection? ugh, the mouth is such a weird eco system too….hmmm, id say be on the safe side…as per your llittle doggie, oohh, im sorry! how sweet of you to adopt a senior! it does take time to recover from such a loss. maybe one day you will feel the need to offer another pup a wonderful retirement home. heres a funny for ya’ll: my Kentucky relatives delight in teasing me about the way i eat sent me a article on how violent prisoners at some jail are being fed the raw diet to help control their violent tendencies…so my uncle says that starvation would take the piss outa most people( and he is not opposed to this treatment for miscreants) but i one upped him and said” oh its not really starvation that affects their tendencies they simply have lost the will to live, i mean who could face one more lettuce leaf!” teehee now , now my firends, the best way to diffuse a good teasing is to one up them in the self effacing humor department…laughter at oneself is the sweetest i find! hahahha my mammaw had an interesting take on the diet too as a child of the depression she said” but honey, you dont have to eat poor folks food,(meaning home grown)you are blessed with the where with all to get it at the kroger” so to her boxed foods where the epitome of wealth…..interesting huh?
speaking of growing things, my herb garden has some pest, and hes gobbling my basil, the fink! hmmm guess maybe i should hobble my swollen butt down to the home depot for marigolds..ive sprayed with acv to no avail….grrrrrr, i need some ducks, my chickens are to scattered to focus on jsut ridding the plant of pests, they like to destroy the plant whilst attacking the bug! little velocoraptors that they are;)....wonder if the feed store has any quackers hmmmmm….

stRAWberry and om – I actaully get some of my ‘reading’ on line in mp3 form. I do have a couple novels to listen to awaiting me. It’s nice to do it the old fashioned way though. Oh well. yes stRAW. i have what is known as Stargartz disease. i probably spelt that wrong! It is a degeneration of the cones in the fovea of the eye. This is usually puberty onset. And it is RARE! Thanks for the suggestions guys!

Hey everyone haven’t had time to read the posts since I haven’t been around. I have a great update, LOL, I had 3 squirrels fall down my fireplace, so imagine me chasing 3 squirrels with two screaming girls in the back for 2 1/2 hours ugghhh it was a nightmare non the less, LOL .
Now I am at work trying to catch up because I took off Friday and Monday.

Ardesmond that’s a riot about the squirrels. I’ve had a bird do the same thing… it flew down the chimney and sat in the fireplace insert (woodstove) chirping and rustling around. When I opened it up it flew out in an explosion of ashes and feathers and I had to herd it out the door with a broom… my son was running around yelling, too. And it took forever because the poor thing was terrified and confused and just flew around in circles. ;o)
Oh, then there was the possum that kept getting in under the floorboards in the unfinished room (don’t ask) to eat the cat food. I had to PUSH that critter out the back door with the broom, because it curled up and, well, played possum. It wouldn’t move. It just hissed at me and crouched there looking hideous. Vile creature.
Had a bat in the house once, too. That was entertaining. ;o)
I can’t believe I forgot about Ren and Stimpy!! I loved that show (because I am a freak ;o). You sick little monkey! Ha ha. Om, remember Stimpy’s magic nose garden? BWAHAHAHA!! Truly sick.
Strawberry, I never saw Mighty Manfred or Tom Terrific, but I loved Rocky & Bullwinkle. To this day I’m always saying, “Nothing up my sleeve… PRESTO! Huh! Don’t know my own strength!”

ardes & jenergy – hilarious – I have to add a story. Not mine, but my neighbor was up early one morning before anyone else in her house. She heard some kind of noise coming from the garage, so she opened the kitchen door to the garage to investigate. She saw something coming at her, so she hurried and shut the door. She looked up and saw eyes and a beak. She had killed a bird in her door! She cried.
Ardes, hey nice to here from you again! Yess i am walking to and from work now. It was way too snowy and icy all winter, and i vowed the instant the sidewalks were clear, I’d hoof it! Takes about 35 min. one way. I think that is going to be my best time. The only way i will be able to cut it down is if i run it! Wow, i ‘ll bet the squirrels were freaked out too!
jenergy, possoms are pretty fearless! There was one in the backyard that my dog (keep in mind, she is 105 pounds) ran away from. It didn’t really do anything menacing, it just startled her, and she went nuts barking at it. She sounds like a pissed off police dog when she wants to! Well this possom, even after I came up to see what the big baby was going on about, just saunters away. Weird little thing! Anyhow, do you remember the space madness episode of Ren and Stimpy? That one was FUNNY! I have all the episodes on DVD. Now who’s the freak?!;) Rocky and Bullwinkle was Canadian made! We Canucks are demented!

ardes and jenergy – i almost forgot! Last summer the little wise arse chipmunk who lives in my backyard, got curious and decided to crawl into our dryer exaust. He couldn’t get back out, so my husband and I detacted the drier from the exaust pipe, (the little numskull was inside the drier now) Then stuffed a T-shirt into the hole so he couldn’t get out as we lugged the full size drier out of the basement and into the backyard! And of course, my husband slips near the top step and gets pinned. (not to worry he was ok) and here I am holding pretty much on my own, a major appliance! To top it all off, the t-shirt falls out, and we are panicking, thinking this dum chipmunk is going to dash out and then, the dog and cat would get involved! Needless to say, we got the little nerd out alive! Which was our intent. When we got the drier out side he just scampered out. La la la la la, like it was no big deal! I can’t believe I almost forgot about that! old age!;)

Me three about crying over the bird, that would be traumatizing! It can be hard to get a panicked wild animal out of our spaces without damage to anyone involved. Luckily for me, the possum has not returned… now, if I can just keep the neighbor’s cat from coming up through the floorboards in the unfinished room… or better yet, get my husband, the CONTRACTOR, to actually FINISH the damn room. Sore subject. I keep bringing it up, I know.
jenergy – if you didn’t live on the other side of the continent, you would certainly be welcome to borrow the DVD. I thought you were gonna say ‘better yet, get my husband to stop coming up from under the floorboards!’ HA! Well you know men, they seem to take their own sweet time on things.

i cried over baby mouse demise! I moved a feed can in the chicken house and this mommy mouse runs out with pinkies still suckling and is spied by my flock of feathered fiends and they attack and eat every one of those pinkies…yes chicken are omnivourous, bugs lizards and pinkies apperently! it happened so fast i was in shock jsut standing there holding the feed can and gaping at my chickens….then i burst into tears!
om – that is horrible. :( Did mommy mouse escape? Wow, I have quite the picture in my head of these normally complacent birds all of a sudden turning ferocious, eyes blazing red and fangs appearing! shudder.
I have been sooooo emotional – I finally stopped running long enough to let my emotions catch up with me, I guess. I am lonely and sad. Although the chicken fangs idea is making me chuckle for some reason…;)
