Recipe Directions

Measurements are not necessary, that would be more things to wash. Start with Butter and Oil and add honey, carob powder, cinnamon, and salt to taste. Whisk into a yummy carob sauce.

Cut banana into slices. Using a fork, dip each banana slice into the carob sauce then coat in coconut or chopped nuts. Lay out onto a tray and freeze.

Great bite sized snack to keep on hand to settle that sweet tooth whenever it hits.

SAD eater adult and kid approved.

This is more of a quick and easy tip than a recipe... No equipment needed but a bowl, whisk, and knife. I needed to get rid of a couple of over ripe bananas. I always have a tub of these in the freezer.

What a great recipe!!

I loved these, they are nutritious and satisfy that sweet craving, the B12 craving! I made them without coconut oil, and they were perfect. I added ground cloves and that gave the chocolate flavour lot of depth.

Thank you!

I love this recipe! So easy to make, and tasty too. I often don't get to the freezing part though - just chuck everything into a bowl & grab a spoon. :)

I made quite a different version of these yesterday though: Mint tahini frozen banana bon bons.

So simple, so delicious, and a great use for ripe bananas! I hope I can always keep a stash of these in my freezer! I used cacao instead of carob, by the way, because I just love it! Thanks for the recipe / tip! I just wish it listed amounts for the ingredients because the first time I made it, everything went fine. The second time - not so good!

Aprilsmiles, these never show on the scale for me. One of the things i LOVE about coconut fat, I process it really well and don't gain weight from it. The MCTs I guess.

KMcR: Funny how you found frozen bananas easier to work with. My sauce wouldn't stick to frozen bananas! It would just slide right off..lol. So I didn't do that again.

Yum! I made these last night and they are delicious! I even caught my husband sneaking into the freezer. I froze my banana bites first which made them easier to dip.

Wow. This was unbelievably delicious - so good in fact I didn't even get to the freezing part! I just dipped my banana straight in and went with it! This is definitely raw comfort food so I'm sure I'm going to see it on the scale tomorrow (the oil, honey, and butter) but great, tasty, and hit the spot! Thanks for sharing!

In response to RawGirl178, I make my sauce pretty liquidy. It has the consistency of chocolate sauce you pour over your ice cream. I once did have a problem of the sauce not sticking to the banana. I have NO idea why. I added a bit of ground dried coconut or ground chia and it added some texture to the sauce and it stuck to the banana. If your bananas are already frozen, the sauce wont' stick either.

But thick sauce sounds pretty good too. More fudgy...

These look incredible! I love bananas with chocolate and nuts...which is why I always have to have a frozen banana every time I go to Disneyland ;) Can't wait to try these...in fact, the ripe banana in my fruit bowl may just become my best friend in a few moments...

These are absolulty wonderful, mine were really chocolaty, I used cocao instead and Yum. my boyfriend the SAD eater said "there is no way that these are raw" LOL little does he know:-) My chocolate sauce was really thick and very oily but I only added 1/4 cup of oil any suggestions? although it was not as messy with all of the oil, it did not stick to the banana so I actually had to mold it over it.

Coconut Oil is just oil. Coconut Butter is a paste that has coconut meat with the oil.

Just made these about an hour ago and they really hit the spot. I didn't have coconut butter so I just made regular coconut oil chocolate with raw cocoa powder (didn't have carob) and stirred in a bunch of sliced frozen bananas. Thanks for an awesome recipe.

Totally. I'm still marveling at that picture - it looks like a chocolate coated ice cream sandwich. I just realized I'm out of coconut butter, so I might use a few tablespoons of sprouted cashew butter instead - it's delicious and I think this is an awesome use for it.

I love coconut too. So yummy and so healthy. Last batch I made I added some ground up chia seeds to the carob sauce for a healthy boost.
