This simple raw recipe is dedicated to Breanna Rutter, whose request on Twitter inspired me to post this recipe that I've been enjoying lately. Thanks for the inspiration!

Also, in case you're curious, I garnished this one with red peppercorns for that pop of red color!

I was wondering how filling this is? would it be good for lunch?

Sounds stupid but I hadn't thought of dulce in a salad. That seaweed and set combo with the fruit sounds delicious. Will try tonite

Raw avocado dulse salad recipe

Made this salad tonight for the first time. Instead of raisins I used dried cherries obtained from the whole foods market bulk bin section. OMG, this was soooooo good

I haven't tried this yet, but I plan to. Though I can't find "dulse seaweed" anywhere! Can I just substitute it?

Hi Jessica,

Asian food stores should have it - if not, if you can find nori seaweed (those sheets of seaweed that people roll sushi with) then you can rip up the nori sheet and use that instead

loved it! Didn't expect to like the raisins in this recipe but went for it and am so glad I did! The sweetness was a nice contrast. So delicious! And dulse (my first taste ever) turned out to be very pleasant, much better than I expected :)

Hi Susie, they are not raw but certainly better for you than flour rollups. I like to use raw  seaweed rolls

Hi Kyle, this would be a medium-sized lunch.  You might want to have some fruit and nuts before/after to feel stuffed!

Hi Andrea, I can purchase it at my regular grocery story near the seafood. You can also try your local health food store (call first - it's way easier that way). You can also try Japanese or Asian markets if you live in a larger area.

If buying online here's some:  http://tinyurl.com/as77qlo
