The Rawtarian's Thoughts

By The Rawtarian

Caramel sauce is delightful drizzled over a raw cake, brownies, ice cream, fresh fruit, and on many other raw desserts - especially on top of bananas! This is perfect to use with a piping bag to pipe onto your favorite raw dessert.

Caramel sauce will harden slightly when refrigerated, but if you let it sit for a few minutes at room temperature it'll soften up again.

It's a little on the thick side - feel free to add 1 tablespoon more water and blend again if you'd prefer it runnier.

Just made this! So yummy. Is it ok if I just eat it straight from my Vitamix? :-)

Interesting! Maybe your dates were a bit dry and a titch more water would do the trick :)

A better photo of the caramel sauce on the left. I had to use a food processor for this recipe even though I soaked the dates and cashews prior to placing them in my small blender. Once it reached a level of thickness in the blender, the mixture stopped stopped swimming around in the container while the blades were spinning like crazy at highest speed. So thankfully, the fp saved the day! Yum 😋

Raw caramel sauce recipe

This is so much better than caramel, I love that it doesn't stick to my teeth, and that it spreads like peanut butter. I followed Laura-Jane's suggestion and poured it over sliced bananas in a layering fashion creating a mini tower in a custard bowl, then topped it with raspberries, coconut flakes, pecans, pumpkin seeds, a dash of cinnamon powder, and a sprinkle of grated 90% cacao chocolate... and after tasting this blissful creation, I started singing the "Joy To The World!" Christmas song. Thank you, Laura-Jane for creating this recipe!!! 💕

This caramel was very tasty! I incorporated it IN my chocolate banana ice cream, giving it a richer taste and creamier texture.
