Recipe Directions

  • 1. Place all ingredients in your food processor.
  • 2. Pulse very briefly. Just pulse once and take a look!
  • 3. Continue to pulse briefly to get the a "chicken-salad" type consistency that is quite chunky, like the attached picture. Go slow!
  • 4. Consume immediately.

The Rawtarian's Thoughts

By The Rawtarian

I like to use a crisp green Granny Smith apple or Gala apple in this recipe, but any apple will do. I use a medium-to-large apple.

Don't over-process, because it will look like the attached pic in just a quick pulse or two! So go slow.

This recipe does not keep well AT ALL. Just make it immediately before you want to eat it, and eat it all or force other people to help you eat it!

This makes a great side salad. It's a bit heavy for a whole meal, but I have eaten it as an entire meal on occasion.

Read 'a tablespoon of onion' as 'a whole onion'.... Let's just say after a few mouthfuls, our systems are clear!
We will definitely try it again with the correct quantities and let you know what we think then :-)

Yum! Great over spinach leaves. Add a little agave if you like it sweeter. So quick and easy- 5 min.

I like to have this as more of a sweet dish. I add half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon and a few dates and leave out the onions/salt/dill spice

Yummy... I used a Fuji apple. I think it would have been better with a tart apple as you suggested.

This is my first recipe and day of going raw, but have been working towards it. I came upon this site and was so happy. This recipe was delicious. Subbed walnuts for cashews, and served over endive. Thanks so much!

Definitely the brownies. Just got all the ingredients. My curiosity is getting the best of me. I really came to your site for ideas for savory recipes, but wow, the desserts seem amazing. This is all wonderful work and I can't wait to try more recipes soon.

I just made this again & tweaked the basic recipe, adding 1/4 of an orange bell pepper, chopped, 1/2 of an English cucumber, seeded & chopped, a handful of pecans,& celery. I put everything on a bed of romaine lettuce. It was even better than the first time that I made it. This recipe will be in my salad rotation often.

I just made this, leaving out the onion since I'm allergic to them. I added romaine lettuce & a bit of ranch dressing, mixing everything up well. It was really good & I will be making it again. I also want to try it with celery added.
