Directions

  • 1. Add pecans to food processor. Process until quite small - resembling coarse flour.
  • 2. Add dates. Process until well combined and you can't even see the dates any more.
  • 3. Break a perfectly ripe banana (not too hard and not too soft) into chunks and add to food processor mixture. Process again until banana is well combined.
  • 4. Spread mixture onto parchment paper. Dehydrate in your dehydrator for approximately 8 hours.

The Rawtarian's Thoughts

By The Rawtarian

Enjoy this raw turtles recipe batter ooeh and gooey straight out of the food processor for a super sugary, caramel style nut fudge. Or spread onto a dehydrator sheet and dehydrate for caramel candies.

The flavor of my raw turtles recipe is super sweet pecan pie with a subtle hint of banana flavor.

The only downside to this mixture is that it's super sticky and can be a bit of a pain to wash from the food processor.

How would one add chocolate to this, and what sort?

I made the raw brownie and topped it with the turtle and sprinkled coconut over the top. Sort of like one of those layer dessert bars! To die for!

Hey Jacqui! Yes, it's a chocolate candy with caramel and nuts - popular around Christmas here in Canada :)

These are sooo good. I only made half the recipe because I'm the only one eating it. And it will take me a while to finish these.
Thank you Laura

Delicious ! This is the second -and not last- time I make this recipe. I fond a little vanilla, sea salt and cocoa nibs are a nice addition. Thank you so much !

Brooke recently asked me if raw peanuts could be used in this recipe. I never use raw peanuts! In my opinion, truly raw peanuts taste awful.

No, they are not solid when frozen. They become kind of a weird chewy texture

Does this refrigerate well? If so, for how long?
