I'm Zoe's partner Chris, and this recipe is my creation. The salt gives it the chesecake taste. You don't need much, just a pinch per 16 ounce glass. Don't be put off by the sound of a little salt in a sweet recipe, you won't taste it and to me without it it just tastes like sweet lemon water.

I had this smoothie this morning and it was the best thing ever. Exactly what I expected it to taste like! Although I did put 5 medjool dates instead of 9 cuz it seemed a bit much...!

Wow this looks deeeeeeeeeeeeeeelicious. Could I use young coconut instead of almonds? Would that affect the cheesecake flavor? I plan to make this really soon. Thank you Zoe.

Thanks Zoe, this was great! I never thought of almonds being so creamy without straining them, it wasn't grainy like I expected. I used 5 dates because 9 scares me and it was still plenty sweet and really tastes like cheesecake, fascinating. Do you know the equivalent of 1/2 pint in cups? This baffled me so I used half a beer mug!

Mmmm... thanks. It's really good if you decrease the amount of water to leave it thick and use it as a topping on fruit.

I found this website yesterday and have spent HOURS on it! This recipe just jumped right out at me and I had to have it this morning! I made mine with home made almond milk which I had sweetened with dates so I only used 3 dates in my smoothie. How much is .3 cup almonds?? I threw in about 5 I think. I threw everything in my Magic Bullet and it made the most amazing smoothie!! It left me with some nummy almond bits in the bottom of the glass. Thanks so much!

Would this work with almond milk instead of the almonds/water? I just made a batch of almond milk last night, and this sounds delicious!

Well, I only use natural unrefined salt with no additives like pink himalayan or celtic sea salt. But it would be just as nice without salt, I frequently forget to put it in and it makes no big difference.
