Ingredients
- 5 mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 tablespoon raw soy sauce (nama shoyu)
Recipe Directions
- 1. Slice mushrooms.
- 2. Place sliced mushrooms into a wide, shallow bowl (or a plate with a deep lip).
- 3. Pour the oil and soy sauce over the mushrooms.
- 4. Gently stir mushrooms until lightly but thoroughly coated in oil and soy sauce.
- 5. Let mushrooms sit for approximately 5 minutes. (Stir occassionally if possible.)

I have eaten raw marinated mushrooms on their own, but I love them combined with spinach as salad toppers. In this photograph I've placed the marinated mushrooms on a bed of spinach and garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onion. But for you the opportunities are endless.
Again, the marinated mushrooms provide a nice hearty substance to a salad, and they are super quick to prepare.
I personally prefer my marinated mushrooms eaten fresh right after I make them.

this is really good. i have done this many times with my portabella muchrooms,but when i saw this recipe i was shocked because i never thought someone else would do this..lol i guess great minds think alike..i like to sprinkle chopped marinated mushrooms on my mushroom soup...yummy..made me hungry..thats what i will have for lunch

Spy sauce does have wheat in it, at least the kind I bought unfortunately. This recipe due to the soy sauce left my stomach in knots. It was tasty though.

I am sorry that the soy sauce that you purchased had gluten in it. Most do, but you can opt for gluten-free soy sauce (look for it clearly marked on the label)...

I found these are great if eaten right away, however I prefer doubling the marinade and eating them a day or two or more later. HINT: EXCELLENT to add to the spaghetti recipe!

Raw marinated mushroom recipe
Delicious! I marinated the mushrooms with some seedless cucumber and tossed them in a spinach salad with sprouts and sesame seeds. Kind of a combo of the raw asian cucumber salad and the marinated mushrooms.

Love these. A lot. Made them last night for the first time, but then craved them again this morning so I had more! I added some garlic to the marinating mixture. Super tasty.

Raw marinated mushroom recipe
So yummy and easy, thanks! I made a quick salad with diced tomato and avocado, sprinkled with lemon juice and sea salt, then added the mushrooms. My family loved it and my 13 yr. old son wanted some to pack in his lunch the next day. I also made some in the morning at work and shared with a co-worker who loved it as well.
