This salad can be used as a stand alone dish, or a side dish with any meal. Delicious.

Recipe Directions

Combine all ingredients.

The secret to this recipe is Stir, Stir, Stir to distribute the avocado. The avocado you use should be “medium” – not hard and not squishy soft – but just in between so it holds some form, yet spreads a bit to coat the other ingredients.

Proportion the ingredients according to your taste … more or what you like best, etc. I use alfalfa sprouts as a garnish when serving.

Also good with chopped strawberries.

My first month of eating raw, I made this just about everyday! I made it without the scallions and sweet peppers, instead I used thinly sliced red onion, and a handful of walnuts and if I was feeling especially extravagant, a handful of raisins.

Thanks!!! I had watched this video quite a while back and have wanted to try it! Anyhow, I forgot where the heck I saw the video, so I couldn't get the recipe. I remember the lady doing the demo just raving about this recipe.

Thanks for posting this. I'd been thinking of posting it for several days and then saw you'd already done it. :-) I've really enjoyed this recipe, also revised, and everyone that's tried it has liked it. One serving size - 1 avo, 1 tomato, 1 apple, cayenne and salt. That's it. I tried it with the oil first to know what it's supposed to taste like. After that I didn't use it, don't miss it and haven't made it with oil since. Oil is used in so many raw recipes, especially in making nut butters which is totally unnecessary if one has a Vitamix. I've omitted the oil in so many recipes and they taste GREAT! :-)

I recently found this recipe online in a video and googled for a text recipe and found it here, of all places. This salad is divine. I have gotten hooked on it and right now am eating it daily.

Mesha - I think it is because you have the smiley face in there -- all the text between the two is lined out.

Why did it line out some of the text?

When Todd shared this recipe with me about a couple of years ago, I ate it every day as well. Ya kinda get hooked on it. It's neat the way you can put in different ingredients to 'make it your own' and it just gets better. I'll have to try the walnuts and raisins - sounds good.
