My favorite meal as a child was mashed bananas with custard which, is perhaps why I enjoy this dish so much. These proportions will do for a small snack but double the amounts if you're hungry.

I just bought my first chia seeds today so I'm excited to try them with this.

I'm guessing the lucuma is added as a sweetener. Maybe agave, or some date syrup (dates & water -or orange juice- blended to syrup consistency), could possibly work? Just guessing here, but sounds good to me-- I think I'll try it! :~)

This was a lovely filling, easy and mellow breakfast. It was just the right sweetness and consistency. My husband and daughter (non-raw) both liked it too and cleaned their bowls. The only thing I did differently was to swap the currants for some pomegranate and it was really good.

DID YOU USE LUCUMA POWDER OR FRESH LUCUMA?

This is the type of breakfast I make often for the kids. I tried this one without the lucuma and I replaced the flac with ground chia seeds. Delicious!

I added the lucuma because I love its flavour. I think that a ripe banana is sweet enough without any added sweeteners and the lucuma isn't necessary. However it is described as having a maple syrup like taste so if you're not 100% raw I think a splash of maple syrup would be lovely in this. Pixx's suggestions also sound good. x
