Refreshing summer soup. It has a somewhat spicy taste.

It is really good with basil too. Enjoy!

Oooh- yummy- I love Kohlrabi!! I have yet to post this kohlrabi recipe I had adapted from a former cooked recipe that my raw foodie bud said was the best she had ever tasted.

Tweedle's Review

Kohlrabi Cream Soup
4
4 out of 5

this is a good base recipe BUT... half an onion? wayyy too much. it made my stomach jump in circles. you honestly don't even need the onion, but if you're going to use onion I'd suggest garnishing it with some green onions/scallions instead. I did that, and that was much better than when I added half an onion to the soup base.

its good with basil instead of dill, and it's also good with cilantro!

Huh, interesting! I just saw one at my grocery store. I think i'll have to get one next time. I think i'll make this but, with 1/2 the garlic so it's not as spicy!

carrie6292: I copied the description from a holticulture website:

"The kohlrabi is a member of the cabbage (crucifer or mustard) family. The part we eat is the enlarged stem from which the leaves develop. The enlarged stem is best harvested as soon as it grows to a diameter of two to three inches. Kohlrabi may be white, green or purple in color. Leaves of young plants may be used like spinach, or mustard greens."

It tastes like cabbage a little bit.

I did put in a little bit of water, maybe 1-2 tablespoon, so the blender would run better. But if you use a food processor, I don't think you would need any.
