Recipe Directions

  • 1. Blend all ingredients together in your high speed blender until very smooth and creamy.
  • 2. Chill in the fridge for a couple of hours after blending because it'll firm up nicely that way.
  • 3. Enjoy!

The Rawtarian's Thoughts

By The Rawtarian

This raw fruit dip is total comfort food for me. It's the same texture as cream cheese icing, which I used to love... Creamy and almost tangy, mmm!

Try this raw food fruit dip as a dessert. Serve this dip in a bowl with sliced fruit, such as apples, grapes, orange sections, pineapple, etc. Perfect dessert for SAD people and raw fooders alike.

This raw fruit dip also doubles as a very nice icing for raw cakes.

This fruit dip tastes best if kept chilled in the fridge.

Serve this raw fruit dip for dessert tonight! Goes so well with bananas, pineapple and strawberries! Mmm.

I just tried this recipe but I keep having small cashew peaces what doesnt make the dip totally smooth. Is it meant to be like that? I am using a high speed blender.

Hi Jose! Could be that you need to blend a little longer, soak the cashews a little bit, or add a little bit more liquid. Or some combination thereof :)

Hi Amber!

I try to buy locally for most ingredients, including nuts. But for some foods (like cashews or specialty items) I buy from nuts.com (cashews) or The Raw Food World.

Can you substitute cashews for almonds?

No sorry Brittany - that won't work out well since cashews are well creamier than almonds

I love how forgiving this recipe is. I made it for the first time last week and the whole family loved it. Consequently they also helped to eat it all too. I decided to make more. Unfortunately, amid the distractions of three children, I managed to misread the amount of water this time and dumped in 1 1/2 cups... It was quite runny when blended, but luckily didn't lose any flavor. After refrigerating, it's the consistence of pudding (or yogurt). It still tastes great and the quantity is almost doubled.

Raw fruit dip

I am so excited to have found this recipe. I am going to try it on a a gluten free/dairy corn sugar (and everything else) free cake (yummy with zucchini and carrots and applesauce but not raw) for a non-raw birthday party. I have been looking for some healthy non-dairy sugar free frosting for a LONG while. So thanks. And as we are moving more towards raw this is very exciting as well. But we live in FLorida and things melt quickly. Any idea of how this holds up to heat. Should I make it and refrig it or freeze it to keep it from running all over? We have a short car ride and then an air conditioned place to put the cake in for 2 hours before cake time happens. Thanks!!

Awesome Carolyn! Yes, you'll want to keep it in fridge right up until you leave, then refrigerate at the air conditioned place right up until you'll be eating it. Hope this helps!

This is my favorite fruit dip!!! I often take a bowl of freshly cut fruit and this dip as a nice topping to barbecues, picnics, and brunches. It's my "go to" recipe. :)

Totally perfect to share at potlucks, right? And easy to do too. Everybody loves a good fruit plate (grapes, bluberries, strawberries, sliced bananas, etc.) yum
