Yield
up to 2 quarts, depending on desired thickness
Ingredients
1 medium avocado
2 big handfuls greens (I used baby lettuces)
2 celery stalks, chopped
juice of 1 medium lemon
1/2 finger of ginger, peeled and chopped
1/2 tsp. curry powder
1/8 tsp. Asafoetida
1/8 tsp. turmeric
pinch of cayenne
salt (optional)
water to desired thickness and temperature
Recipe Directions
Put everything in a blender and whiz away. Adjust seasonings to taste. If you want to consume this as a soup, you could garnish it with chopped or shredded veges, or seeds such as pumpkin, sunflower and sesame.
Jenoz's Thoughts
By jenozThis savory smoothie or soup is VERY warming and REALLY high in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory power! Plus, it boasts a lot of taste complexity and it was quick and easy to make. I didn't take a picture because - guess what? It looks like a green smoothie!
