Ingredients
1 cup sunflower seeds (unsoaked)
1 cup corn
¼ cup flax seeds
¼ tablespoon salt
Recipe Directions
1. I find that each cob of corn provides 1/2 cup of corn, so you will need at least 2 cobs.
2. Soak the sunflower seeds (probably should take 12 hours or less.) Drain the sunflower seeds. (I use a jar and cheesecloth.)
3. Use a food processor on the corn and soaked sunflower seeds.
4. Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl.
5. Dry in a dehydrator until crispy. Usually takes 24 hours. I like to make them thick, because they seem to taste better that way, though they take longer to dry.

they make pretty good tortilla chips if you make them thin.. they have a very mild savory flavor... i'd suggest adding lime to make them more tortilla like, maybe some cayenne if you like spicy chips

hemp seed would also make it more tortilla like, along with lime

tried a batch with hot peppers instead of lemon juice... tasted just as good, but there was a bad aftertaste... but then i ate some grapefruit and it went away

You don't need flax seeds, Khaas Ladki. The sunflower seeds will provide enough texture. Flax can be overpowering, depending on your personal preference. Great recipe, mewmew - can't wait to try it.

Sorry about that 3 messages thing... the stupid web page kept saying that an error occurred... BTW I think I got the soak time wrong... change from 6 hours to 24 hours... I honestly thought it was less time than that... but I've been soaking and watching the clock and it's been 6 hours and they're not plumped up enough yet.... it's probably only 12 hours or something, I'll find out for sure later on.

I think that probably you could try something else... Or leave them out of the recipe... should still be okay... haven't tried it though.

Is there something I could use instead of flax seeds? I have everything but those... of course.
