I have read online that people thought that dehydrated potatoes was too starchy tasting or it would brown and wilt even when dehydrated. Well I just solved that and I love to create recipes that are raw organic versions of classic comfort and junk food favorites they are classics for a reason and it helps to get more new people into RAW and make it more mainstream. Also a lot of people asked me for a good potato chip recipe since they have a hard time giving the cooked version up, so I came up with this one in my new 10 Tray Good4U Dehydrator with new super cool Digital Timer! I love how I can see the food being dehydrated in the see through nice new blue tray designs so there are no fake doors to mess with or hassles! It makes dehydrating a lot more fun, easy and simple which helps to bring out the creativity in you instead of the struggle and frustrations! Thank you Good4U Dehydrators for actually innovating and creating a lower priced good new design that is RAWesome! I highly recommend it and people who got it from my website love it.
Ok so using my RAW STAR brand ceramic peeler, this keeps the potato fresher and pure, I peeled some fresh Organic Golden Potatoes dipped it into lime juice in a bowl then I put it on the dehydrator tray and then I finely chopped some organic garlic and sprinkled them on top and dehydrated for 6 to 8 hours and you have to flip them over 2 times, the garlic stays on though. I am thinking I might add some chopped green chives to give it a nice color and more flavor...
People complained that dehydrating potatoes has a starchy bad taste but I discovered when you dip it into the lime and add garlic it somehow reacts and gets rid of any starchy consistency or taste and comes out perfectly RAWmazingly RAWlicious! Also you are finally getting Acrylamide Free potato chips! If you do not know what Acrylamide is PLEASE Google.com it, you will be glad you did!!!
Also the 3 in the back I also coated lightly by dipping in olive oil after the lime juice, I did this to see if it can get more of that greasy junk food look and taste and it did but I found that I prefer just the simple lime and garlic which is the one to the bottom right hand corner that is crunchier, crispier and lighter but if you like the greasy "deep fried" look and taste then just dip in organic gourmet olive oil and enjoy!
Hope this satisfies everyone's potato chip cravings and you are still going RAW so keep on RAWCKIN' IT! :o)
Finally a "healthy" version of Potato Chips!
For a "BBQ" Flavor and look you can sprinkle Mesquite Powder, Cayenne Pepper and sea salt. But I found that the lime makes it naturally salty already.
