Ingredients
1 cauliflower (florets chopped)
4-8 teaspoons nutritional yeast
Black pepper (to taste)
1 teaspoon sea salt
3 tablespoons spirulina
2 teaspoons olive oil
Water
Recipe Directions
1. Put it all in a gallon size zip-lock bag or a reusable Tupperware-type container and shake until your arms hurt.
2. You can make it cheesier by adding more yeast, greener by adding more spirulina, and you can make it sticky by adding raw honey (only do that if you are going to dehydrate).
3. You can eat it as-is (which is what Philip at Lovingraw states he usually does) or you can also dehydrate it overnight and it will shrink up into yummy little crunchy pieces.

If you enjoy cauliflower like me, you have to try it! It's a beautiful and really tasty little snack.

Wow--I cannot believe how delicious this was! I ate it fresh, and what a fantastic snack! I'd love to try it dehydrated, but honestly, I wonder if I will ever manage to get it into the dehydrator...I was a little hesitant, but it is truly awesome!

I dehydrated it and it is delicious. I left the spirulina out because I didn't have any. It reminds me of fried clams! I haven't had any in more than 15 years, so I may not be a good judge. I think I might add a little dulse next time and serve them with a tomato based dipping sauce!

I tried a little flax oil instead of the olive oil since it has a buttery flavor. It's delicious.

OH MAH GAWD this is soooooo goooooood.
this was the first time i've had cauliflower since i was 7 yrs old (i'm 23).. because that time a friend's mom made me eat it and i cried because it was so gross. maybe because it was COOKED. ugh. but fresh it is so amazing and delicious and the perfect base for this tasty salty goodness.
and i was a devoted popcorn junkie, so this makes me super excited.
i NEEEEED a dehydrator.

We are eating this fresh (not-dehydrated) right now. In fact , if I don't hurry up and write faster, I may not get any.
This is a great snack. If you are craving salty foods make this.
We did not use water.

p.s. this came out of the dehydrator this morning. two words: all gone :) I highly recommend doubling the recipe if you are going to dehyrate. Addictive :)

This is such a great recipe--easy to make and delicious. Thanks so much for the post greenghost. I've been missing popcorn lately, as well, and this was such a treat. I literally saw this recipe 15 minutes ago, made it, washed the dishes and am now snacking happily. Had to leave a comment to say how pleased I am.

Thanks jah rawstafari. Yes I loved popcorn with all sorts of toppings too. I'm grateful to Lovingraw.com for creating this recipe. I've made it at least 4 times already and I like it both ways he suggests: fresh & dehydrated. I haven't tried it with raw honey yet, but I think I might try that the next time I make this :)

I have this in the dehydrator right now. My FAVORITE snack (sometimes dinner) of *all time* was air popped popcorn. I would make a HUGE bowl and top it with *all kinds* of things. Nori, Jalepenos, shoyu, salsa, hot sauce, onions, steamed broccoli, you name it! My boyfriend at the time thought I was slightly mental - but it became one of those quicky things he loved about me :) ANYWHO - popcorn is just about the only thing I miss about being raw.
Just one taste of this (pre-dehydrating) and it was like a giddy flashback! I happen to love nutrional yeast, but have been steering clear in my attempts to ween out all the "dead" foods. But this is WORTH IT! I can't wait to see what it will taste like all crispy - I hope it does not fall victim to over-sampling before it's ready! :)
cheers.

Thanks! I hope that you enjoy it. If you like all of the ingredients - you will just need to play around with the quantities (per your taste) and you will probably like it quite a bit. Cheers!
