Adapted from Rejuvenate Your Life by Serene Allison. I find this sauce is creamiest when I use soaked cashews. It can be used for pizza, on top of warmed broccoli, in lasagna, etc.

Recipe Directions

1. Blend all ingredients until creamy.

2. Add more water if it is too thick.

I made this yesterday, intending to use to dip veges ...it was So Good that I just ate the stuff! (I didn't use any yeast). Made a double batch today - spread some on a romaine leaf then topped with the bbq beef recipe and rolled it up -- Oh My Gosh!!! soooo good.

This cheese is GREAT. Thanks so much for the recipe.

I have some dehydrating right now -- will see how it comes out in the morning.

Dewy1970's Review

Rich Cheddar Sauce
5
5 out of 5

Awesome. I made mac & cheese and used this recipe for the cheese, and I was pleasantly surprised at how similar it was to the real thing. Wow. I bet I can fool my dairy eating friends. Thanks for the great recipe.

I made this yesterday - soooooo good! I took it to a friend's house for a party, dipped some veggies in it and OMG yum! I got positive feedback from the vegetarians who tried it, and it definately does taste like a cross between hummus and cheddar cheese. The texture is exactly like hummus. I left out the nutritional yeast from the recipe because it grosses me out, and the recipe was just fine. I might even try this recipe with an orange bell pepper instead of the red for some real "cheese" color.

I made this today and I was so excited! It's taste is reminiscent of cheddar cheese. I was really surprised! I really miss cheese so this is going to be a new favorite. I put it on sliced tomatoes and baby carrots. I also experimented and made some zucchini noodles with my saladacco and put the sauce over the noodles to make like a pasta with alfredo sauce. It was quite good. I decided to sprinkle some dried red peppers for a little extra heat. Yum! Next time I will use Jalepeno.

This is very good. It reminds of Melty Cheeze Sauce I used to make as a cooked food vegan. I made it with soaked cashews like Simplyraw, and added some jalepeno pepper. I think this will be really good with cauliflower rice and tomatoes. I'm going to dehydrate some overnight to see how it turns out.

I soak my cashews for 2 hours, then make this delicious cheese sauce.

The first night, our family warmed up some broccoli in the dehydrator and had this cheese with it. It was soooo awesome!! Now we make it to have on hand in the refrigerator, so we can snack on it with our veggies (carrots, celery, broccoli, etc...). Love It!!! Thanks for posting this awesome recipe!

Tried to give it 5 stars, but the computer would not let me.

Just know this recipe gets 5 stars from us!!!

I made this exactly like the recipe except I added jalepenos and it tasted just like nacho cheese! I ate this on sliced tomatoes and jicima but it would be amazing with dehydrator corn chips or other mexican food.

i made it with pumpkin seeds and put a little beet in to make it more red. I also didn't use the yeast, I don't think that it is raw. Thanks for this great recipe!

As I made this sauce I blended it on high in the Vitamix for a few extra minutes. This process heated it just a bit. I poured it over my "taco" and Blam!!! Yummie. I had it for three days in a row. This really satisfied my cheese need:-) Thanks so much for this. Next I'll try pouring it over marinated, dehydrated or raw broccoli. That sounds yumie toooo.

I made this sauce last night and dipped broccoli and celery into it and it was heavenly. So easy too! I made it with half cashews and half sunflower seeds. Super yum :)
