What can i say but simply simple and heavenly (like that word, heavenly in talking about tasty food!). Not sure where i found this recipe but it called for 1 cup of dates. I added the raisins one day when I was out of dates and it tasted great!  I have even used other dried fruit in place of the dates and got...

I have even used other dried fruit in place of the dates and got great results.

No need to soak dates!

Ok, little update. Tasted all three versions again, now that they are PROPERLY freezed... :) Although I really like the carob/agave/walnut combo, I think my favorite is the cacao/carob/agave/almond combo (I thank Karen Knowler for that recipe, which can be found somewhere on her site, and should also contain vanilla), which tasted like a chocolate bar.I couldn't care much for the cacao/agave/walnut.

I subbed the dates for agave (1 cup dates for 1 cup agave), however, I found that to be way too sweet and could easily do with half of the amount.

I recognize this recipe! I saw it on the Raw Food Talk forum. It's Raw Priestess' infamous brownie recipe. Coincidently I made some today, but used agave because I don't have dates. I made one with carob only, and one with cacao. I also didn't use any cinnamon (because I don't have it...). I also made a version with almonds, agave and half cacao, half carob. My dh and I agree that the walnut & carob only version tastes the best! I'm gonna tries this with dates as soon as I have them...
