Joined January 13, 2008<p>I grew up in a suburb of Chicago, where I indulged on ‘foods’ which I would dare not consume today (albeit I never drank pop). It was not until I moved out to California to live with my boyfriend that I was introduced to a foreign concept …reading the ingredients on the label. From there I was no longer the self proclaimed ‘non picky eater’ but suddenly the pickiest eater by far. I’d categorize my eating habits nowadays as a border line vegan/vegetarian (who is now incorporating more raw foods). Interestingly enough I was introduced to the concept of eating raw food about a year and a half ago when our oldest dog began showing what appeared to be signs of arthritis. He was 7 years old, a hundred some pounds, and had been fed the ‘highest’ quality kibble and wet food that we could find. But after extensive research we transitioned all our dogs to a raw diet. Satch is now 8 years old, is exercised frequently, as he always has been, (with our other ‘children’ Soos, and Ren) and now exhibits minimal signs if any of old age. Seeing how raw food seemed so beneficial to his health, led me to explore the raw food lifestyle in regards to my own.</p>
