Recipe Directions

1. Combine well all ingredients (except for last three) and place in fridge to chill.

2. Peel and slice persimmons. Cut lengthwise slits down the center of each dates. Make sure not to cut all the way through the date. Remove seeds.

3. Divide nut mixture evenly among dates. Stuff into slits.

4. Sprinkle with cacao nibs.

Similar combination of dates and almond paste is a North African tradition, such as in Algeria.

yes the kind that short, squat and pumkin shaped. they are also sometimes called Fuyu persimmons; not sure what is right term.

~thanks! you can get Tocotrienols in unique health stores or order on line from Natures First Law – rawfood.com. what it is raw rice bran whole-food. it is a full protein with numberous vitamins, minerals and such as well as vitaimin E and B source. in recepies it can be added to salads, drinks, soups, pattes… hope you can explore it

correct... apples are also good to use in this recepie, though need to be sprinkled with lemon. in addtion flavors of persimmons to me is a better match with dates... i dont have dehydrator; i really enjoy fresh/vegitables and have dry only on rare occation or when i travel. i am sure it is extra sweet when dry

Yes, the Fujus are eaten when they are hard like an apple. The other Persimmons you wait until it is soft. I love that when sliced, the Fuju has a star in the middle. They are also way yummy. Have you tried to dehydrate them? WOW... fruit candy!!!
