This is a great raw snack, and it’s really fast if you remember to soak your almonds for 8-12 hours beforehand. Note: You can also dehydrate the almonds for something more like a roasted almond snack.

I use RAW Honey in place of Agave if I run out. Agave is a cactus product. RAW it is very good for you. Carrassa

I'm new to this...why do you need to soak them first? I noticed some other recipes that said to soak the almonds. What does that do?

I just made it. Pretty good, and I think other nuts would work well too. I mixed in some cayenne pepper for kick.

Hi I just wanted to check like AliciaD, what is agave nectar? Is there any substitute? I live in Tz and we don't seem to have many of these things :( Though we know for sure that all our fresh fruits and veggies are really fresh bcos they can't afford chemical fertilizers here! Thank God :P

Raymond - I hadn't thought of making sweet nuts before. I used to love the candied nuts in my salads. I did pecans and then I dehydrated them...sweet,salty,crunchy and portable! Thanks for giving me the inspiration!!
