Joined August 8, 2008<p>Hello! I am a raw-food lover, currently living in Peru and trying to make my own raw-food dishes with the diverse and luscious gastronomical offering this country has. Its the home of raw cacao, maca, lucuma, and other luxurious raw food staples, and yet raw food as a lifestyle is on the fringes. I have all these ideas of how to use my purple cauliflower, make maracuya desserts along with the other fruit and veg that I discover daily. The organic movement is here, and there’s a fanstastic bio-fair in Lima on the weekends (equivalent of a farmer’s market) that also offers delicious non-raw organic dishes like stuffed cabbage rolls with tahini sauce, wild-green stuffed shwarmas and lucuma pies. I want to start my raw-food stand! – but I don’t know how it would be recieved! In the meantime I am on a personal quest of learning about other natural process, such as natural dyes (with roots, nut, berries), organic cotton weaving, medicinal plants, shamanism and so on…not strictly food but part of the huge ecological circle. The rest of the time I am a shoe designer, working with traditional artisans here, trying to move away from synthetic and chemical processes and explore non-leather options. It’s all a process!</p>
