I loved Alissa’s Date Nut Torte but wanted to vary it a little. So when I saw a recipe for a walnut cream cake here, I used the blackberry jam to top the torte. I changed a few ingredients too, and it turned out really good. This is quick and easy. Thanks for the inspiration.

Ingredients

1 cup walnuts
1 cup pecans
1 cup golden raisins
1 cup Thompson raisins
1 cup dates
½ pint blackberries (one container)

Recipe Directions

1. Process dates and blackberries and set aside.

2. Process the rest of the ingredients.

3. After nuts and raisins begin to turn into a ball, remove from processor and shape on a plate (heart shapes are nice).

4. Spread jam on top and garnish (or not) with orange slices, lemon balm leaves, and blueberries.

You can use a regular plate. After you process the nut mixture shape as you desire. A heart or a star would be a nice shape. Enjoy!
