Joined November 4, 2015<p>I've been interested in optimizing health through diet and lifestyle for more than 50 years - hard to believe so much time has passed! For half of these years, I have been either vegan or virtually vegan - but not usually emphasizing raw foods, which actually contain the most nutritional value. Because I feel best when eating mostly raw, I decided to re-focus on raw recipes again and was THRILLED to find such a talented, well-organized raw food blogger as Laura-Jane. I have enough raw experience to know that her recipes are not just easy, but will taste amazing. Plus, I just LOVE her friendly style and all the comments she and others share. I am more committed now than ever to learning - and sharing with others - all I can about maintaining great health throughout our later years. As a Seventh-day Adventist, I hope to see a second or even a third Blue Zone emerge here in the USA in the next 10 years - one possibly real close to where my husband and I now live in VA! :) Although health and well-being are definitely not only about food, we really are what we eat. So, it's totally tragic how TV ads in our country are brainwashing so many people into thinking the SAD is so great, even healthy!! The best way to counter all this misinformation is to go out of our way to share the simple, delicious, nutritious recipes that Laura-Jane shares so generously with all of us - and be a truly healthy example for those we love. I plan to demo her Raw Pumpkin Crumble this weekend at my church's autumn community health fair in Stanardsville, VA. Can't wait to WOW lots of people with it and to share her website along with the recipe.</p>
