I mix Pau D'Arco with Yerba Mate as a morning tea. I read that it has immune stimulating properties. Where do you buy the bark to make shavings?

Wow that sounds really powerful! I looked it up!
Pau d'arco, or the inner bark of the Tabebuia avellanedae tree, is native to Brazil, where it is used traditionally to treat a wide range of conditions including pain, arthritis, inflammation of the prostate gland (prostatitis), fever, dysentery, boils and ulcers, and various cancers. Preliminary laboratory research examining the properties of pau d'arco is beginning to suggest that the traditional uses may have scientific merit. Such laboratory studies have shown that pau d'arco has pain killing, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, anti-infectious, anti-psoriatic, and anti-cancer abilities.

Any nursing mamas out there would like to know that Pau d'arco (being the wonderful stuff that it is) will upset babies' tummies.

you can get get the shaving from the bulk section in most health food stores. If you can not find in bark just buy the tea bags. And thanks for the comment 123 :)

This herb is used a lot by members of my MScured group. It has many health benefits besides those mentioned by writeeternity. I used to use kombucha tea instead of water in green smoothies. The tea, although not raw, does add a lot of flavor. I like your new avitaurus humanimal.
