Yield
2 1/2 cups
Ingredients
1 banana
1 apple (cored, sliced)
4 dates (pitted)
3 one-inch slices of papaya (peeled, quartered)
1 orange (juiced)
1 lemon or lime (juiced)
Water to desired thickness
Recipe Directions
1. Use a hand juicer to juice the orange and lemon/lime and add enough water to the two of these to equal 1 cup of total liquid.
2. Dump everything into your blender and beat until smooth.
3. Add more water or juice if you like your smoothies thinner.
Einherjar's Thoughts

Just messing around with smoothie recipes.
The red flecks in this come from the apple peel (my $20 blender left them in). A better blender might reduce these to a non-visible state, or you could just peel the apple first.
Personally, I think they add character.

Cantaloupe is the fall. Papaya's tropical, so pretty much year-round, I suppose. The one used in the picture was actually a tad under-ripe, so I can't say for sure.

Looks so yummy! Personally I like the spicks too and my smoothies always have them because of my cheap blender. The only problem i have with blending is when i blend organes and grapes the skin doesnt break up well and gets stuck in my straw! haha
Anyway this looks good but im not a big fan a papaya, maybe the one i had was too ripe or bad or something but it tasted like vomit to me ewww!

The papayas I've had tasted like less-juicy cantaloupe, which might be a good substitute if you don't want to brave papaya again.
