I have tried adding fruit to this but it is not as good as the basic version. It tends to give it a smoothie flavor instead of a milkshake. I like to experiment with the spices though. One of my favs is pumpkin pie spice and apple pie spice. This recipe is so amazing, I hadn’t had anything even close to ice cream...

Recipe Directions

1. Put all ingredients in a blender. It may be helpful for your blender if you chop the frozen bananas into chunks first.

2. Blend until smooth.

3. You can use a quick almond milk by using water and 1 tablespoon raw almond butter.

4. Try to freeze ripe bananas for at least 24 hours prior to use for the right texture. It should be very thick. If it’s not, add one more banana, depending on the size of the fruit.

I love this recipe. I first made one similar over 2 years ago. I was totally experimenting and at the time I had used grounded almonds. All my buddies loved it, and the spices add a nice touch, very cool. :)
