Hello there Thrifty... I know this is an old post but I wanted to respond for future reference. I have been experimenting with hemp seed. Recently I have made a hemp seed pesto substituting hemp for the pine nuts. I now make hemp milk instead of almond milk. No soaking or straining. Today I experimented making a sweet hemp cream to take the place of sweet cashew cream.
It turned out great! I added to a cup of hemp 1 tsp. of non-alcohol vanilla flavor, a pinch of salt and 2 tbl. of maple syrup. A splash of hemp milk when needed... I think I can use to drizzle over morning fruits and using as an icing. The hemp can be strong and has a nutty flavor which is why I added the vanilla.
I have also used hemp as the base of my soups instead of cashews....
Enjoy!

Great ideas here! I love using hemp seeds because they're one of the healthiest sources of vegan protein, plus, they're super easy to incorporate into recipes because of their subtle flavor and texture.

I live in Canada as well! Where can I find raw cashews in the Vancouver area?

Hi Irene! I find cashews are really expensive locally. I buy in bulk from nuts.com - unsalted, unroasted cashew splits
