The Rawtarian's Thoughts

Don't believe me that this could taste as good as old-school SAD (standard American diet) ranch? Just try it. I dare ya :)
Raw ranch dressing is another one of those things that I cannot believe it's possible to replicate raw. But, hallelujah, it is possible.
There is nothing like a nice fresh carrot dipped in raw ranch dressing, no?
And I have even had the pleasure of dipping my raw vegan pizza in raw ranch dressing. "Cue heavenly harp sound...."
So here's my favourite raw ranch dressing recipe for you... I use it basically like a normal salad dressing or dip. I usually make one batch and serve it as a vegetable dip, salad dressing and maybe even on a few more exciting things, like in a raw vegan BLT sandwich or dip raw pizza in it if I am feeling particularly daring.
Of course, you also know that the best vegetables to dip in raw ranch dressing are carrots and broccolli, right?

This was great! I used about 1/4cup vinegar, will probably use less next time, also would use less garlic-whew! but great taste and consistency. Thanks for awesome recipe!

I love love love loooooveeee this dressing. I use it with kale, tomato, and avocado (sometimes I add chicken bc I'm not entirely raw ;). Tastes just like a BBQ chicken salad!!

New rawtarian here, sorry if this has already been posted and answered. In recipes using ANY nuts are they ALL meant to have been soaked and dehydrated first? Or is that always in the directions if needed? Thanks for this great site!

Hi Richard, In my recipes you do not need to soak/dehydrate unless I specifiy to do so in the recipe :) Nuts should be dry (unless I clearly state otherwise). Hope this helps!

Thank you so much! Putting my first batch of cracker dough in the dehydrator. You're wonderful!

I'm just getting started on an unprocessed diet, and I am a ranch FIEND! Let me tell you, this is a Godsend. I used about 1/4 cup vinegar and didn't have any lemon juice on hand at the time I made it, but added more dill and some oregano and it turned out quite lovely.

My pleasure Court :) I love to eat this one as a dip with crisp carrots and broccoli - the flavours go perfectly together

I used this as my FIRST raw dish the second was brownies ;) I was trying to make a small batch so I got a little to much garlic but it was great anyway I will be makeing this a TON. I also added this to the myfitnesspal.com and the cals are 138 for 2tb if it makes 1.5 cups for the whole batch. Classic Hidden Valley has 140 for the same amount, but yours isn't "empty" calories as thier is. thanks!

Used pine nuts instead of cashews and more garlic! Very good recipe to satisfy cravings for richer raw food.

Yum, I love pine nuts but they are very expensive here in Canada. So glad you liked your dressing Justin!

Is it safe to use the whole ranch dressing recipe on a big salad and will I gain weight?
The Rawtarian
Sep 13, 2012
Hi Dario,
Yes, using the entire recipe on one serving is definitely too much. I eat very large, meal sized salads and this recipe lasts for approx 4 big salads for me. It definetly does depend on the size of your salad though.
Hope this helps!

OMG This is INCREDIBLE! I have to be honest, Ive made raw recipes from other websites that turned out very mediocre but every time I make something from here it is delicious! Like some of the other comments I only added half the amount of apple cider or even less. This makes staying raw so much easier. Thank you!

I love this dressing! I was wondering yesterday if I could find a dressing I like as much as traditional Ranch and now I have! I put just a dash of vinegar and didn't have onion powder so added a little raw onion and it was perfect! Thanks!!!
