Now that I have been dehydrating for 5 years, I am happy to share my best dehydrator recipes with you! Here are some of my favourite raw dehydrator recipes. These links all go to my own simple raw dehydrator recipes, which I share with you for free here on my website:
Kale chip dehydrator recipes
Kale chips - Throw some kale in a bowl, season and dehydrate... and you have kale chips! Crispy and full of flavour. Perfect for snacking in front of the boobtube! (I also have yam chip and zucchini chip recipes too, but kale chips are the best!)
Cracker dehydrator recipes
Crackers - I always have raw crackers on hand. One of the most useful of dehydrator recipes, raw crackers help you make a meal quick - just take a cracker, top with tomato, cucumber, sprouts and perhaps a nut pate or some sliced avocado. To die for and so easy!
Raw bread dehydrator recipes
Raw bread! Soft, moist and spongy. I am not kidding!
Raw onion bread: The best, most pliable and awesome onion bread. It's famous in the raw food community!
Raw veggie burger dehydrator recipes
Raw veggie burgers! Use some crisp romaine lettuce as a "bun" and top with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers and a dollop of raw mayonnaise and you are set!
Cake and loaf dehydrator recipes
Basic raw bread, zucchini bread, and raw sweet bread. Oh yeah! These dehydrator recipes use "psyllium husk" - which is the secret to dehydrating moist breads that turn out nice and spongy (not hard as rocks).
More dehydrator recipes
Lots more of my favorite dehydrator recipes here!
These are some of the best simple, raw dehydrator recipes that I have come across over my five years of dehydrating extensively. What are some of your favourite raw dehydrator recipes?

Hi Lyann,
Best dehydrator is 9-tray excalibur, hands down. But... it is expensive! http://tinyurl.com/ah6o3qt
You can also get a Vegikiln - they are cheaper, white, not as "reputable" but they get the job done: http://tinyurl.com/avb59e3
You should get a 8-to-10-tray, and do not get a round dehydrator.

Hi Elsa,
Almost any fruit and vegetable can be dehydrated. Time varies because it depends on how moist the fruit/veg is.
Don't try to do research generally... Just pick a fruit or veg (example apple) and google that. Each fruit/veg is different. :) suggestions - apples, pineapple, pears,

Just wondering, why not a round dehydrator?
The Rawtarian

Hi Nancy!
If that's all you have is a round dehydrator, then go for it! But if buying new, it's best to go with a square one with trays.
Round dehydrator:
*The air doesn't circulate as well so it's harder to dehydrate stuff.
*Usually you can't control the temperature.
*Usually there is a big hole in the middle, so it's really hard to make a sheet of crackers.

Hi,
I found Amazon has the best price on the Excalibur 9 tray. I save quite a bit. Still has the warranty of ten years.

Hi Deborah! Round dehydrators don't circulate the air as efficiently Also, 8-10 trays is optimal. Vegikiln is a lower-priced brand that will get the job done. Check out my article -- https://www.therawtarian.com/raw-food-appliances-etc.

Raw Rules, and you have created an excellent guide. One comment I have about the dehydrator itself, and that is that the square style, like Excalibur, cannot keep the temperature steady. You can prove this with a simple experiment. My test was to dry some mung, wheat, and radish sprouts at the 95-100*F setting, and if the sprouts were able to continue growing after re-soaking, then enzymes were not destroyed. Excalibur failed, but other round tray dehydrators, built to move air, were able to maintain the temperature setting. The round tray is not as convenient as square, but does not take much longer to bring the humidity to ‘crunchy.’
Over the past four years, I have found enzymes important in the raw diet – or else the food is NOT raw.
So you may consider a round tray, adapt your packaging, and live to sprout again.

What about out-gassing with your Sedona. I just used my for the first time and the plastic smell was HORRIBLE! Last night I ran it on the highest heat setting, out on my enclosed porch to try and burn out the gases...it wreaks...this can't be healthy!
Did your Sedona spell like bad plastic?

I have a new Sedona and it did not smell. Did you take all of the foam tray protectors out?
