This is the perfect drink for endurance athletes. Coconut water has the right balance of electrolytes and nutrients needed for effective rehydration. In the past its actually been used as IV fluid because its content is so close to that of human plasma. Mixed with the right carbs, greens, and protein, this makes a delicious post-workout shake.

Replace the packaged coconut water with the real thing from a young coconut. Makes a good smoothie even better.

this is true but not every city has the value of ethnic and exotic foods like yours... in many cities even the asian foodstores don't carry young coconuts and there no large purveyors like Whole Foods so for some people, the packaged coconut water is the best option.

Not to be pedantic here, but I was making the case that using coconut water as an I.V. fluid is not a substitute for a blood transfusion.

jeshuabrown: Chlorophyll and coconut water are excellent, yes, but if you're in a car accident and have lost massive amounts of blood, they're not going to be much help. Under those circumstances, 'll take the blood transfusion, thank you.

Yess! This sounds so good! I have read about it being so close to plasma as well! Makes you wonder why people would accept a risky blood transfusion!! Also chlorophyll=bllod of plants, plasma expander, all natural, no disease etc!!! Nature has everything we need, yes?
