Ingredients
- 1 cup tomatoes (chopped)
- 1/4 cup cashews
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 small clove garlic
- 1/2 cup more diced tomatoes (reserve - do not blend)
Recipe Directions
- 1. Throw all ingredients (except last 1/2 cup of tomatoes) in a high-speed blender and blend up 'til nice and smooth and well mixed. You can let this raw tomato soup recipe blend in the Vitamix or Blendtec blender for a little extra time so that the heat of the blades and the friction actually warm up this delicious, creamy raw tomato soup recipe.
- 2. Transfer raw tomato soup to a bowl. Add the remaining 1/2 cup of diced tomatoes and mix gently with a spoon.
- 3. Garnish the raw tomato soup recipe with sunflower sprouts! Eat immediately.
The Rawtarian's Thoughts
By The Rawtarian Raw tomato soup recipe - Does that sound tasty to you? For some reason I was really turned off by the idea of raw soups for a long time. For two years, actually! I was turned off of raw soups because I once made a raw vegan beet soup that was very gross and watery!
But I finally gave raw soups another go and was pleasantly--and I mean very pleasantly--surprised by my raw tomato soup recipe!
What I like about this recipe is that it's so easy. I mean, you've got tomatoes and cashews, basically. Can't get much easier than that!
A lot of other raw tomato soups call for avocados, but I like this recipe because I always have cashews on hand in my pantry so I can make it any time--rather than having to make sure I have a perfect avocado on hand.
This raw tomato soup recipe makes a nice big bowl for one person. :)

Yum Michelle! So glad you enjoyed it. I like how quick it is, and because I pretty much always have tomatoes and cashews in the house it's easy to whip up on those, "Hmm what should I eat right now?" moments :)

Raw tomato soup recipe
I'm completely addicted to this soup, I've eaten it practically every 2nd day for 3 weeks. I add a few more slices of sundried tomato and prefer a large piece of garlic, makes it spicier. If only I'd known years ago how easy it was to prepare something quick and super healthy. Thank you SO much for your amazing recipes, I will never get tired of them!

Now, raw soup is something that you *want* to get addicted to so that's a good thing!
I too love repeating the same meals frequently until I get sick of them. It's actually really wise and keeps things simple and easy to stay raw that way.
It is a whole new world, isn't it. How did you get introduced to raw food, Jose?

Raw tomato soup recipe
Amazing, and delicious!! I love how creative you can be with this and still have it come out yummy! I didn't have any cashews, or other nuts, or an avocado, BUT, having made tahini the other night one rounded soup spoon of it got plopped into the VitaMix. The creamy texture and nutty taste were perfect. Gotta try it with cashews, next time! Thanks for such a great site.

Raw tomato soup recipe
It is Raw Food Week in Des Moines, IA this week and a few girlfriends and I (who are in different stages of a full vegan or vegetarian lifestyle) committed to a week of going raw. I came across your website today and discovered this recipe. I was skeptical...okay really skeptical...but there were so many incredible comments so I figured why not. I had cashews and tomatoes around of course as the new raw girl that I am. So I went home right after work and whipped this recipe up. And let me tell you...it was FANTASTIC!! I can't believe how unbelievably delicious a soup could be from such simple and raw ingredients. It has genuinely opened my eyes to the wonderful dishes that can still be had while going raw. One of the most difficult transitions I have found in my journey to becoming fully vegan is my intimidation to foreign ingredients and recipes. This was an appreciated change of pace! Thank you so much for sharing all of these wonderful recipes and tips...I can't wait to try something else tomorrow!

It is a wise woman who looks her skepticism straight on and does it anyway :)
Sounds like you are awakening to a new world. I am glad to be part of your journey.

Raw tomato soup recipe
I made this soup a couple of nights ago, and something came up and I was not able to eat it right away. So I placed it in my fridge thinking I will eat it for dinner the following day. When I got home I pulled out my soup, and decided to eat it cold, as our night here on my island have been really hot and humid. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this soup!!!!! It was not only creamy and tasty, but it was the perfect dish to combat the hot and humid weather we have be having lately on my tropical island of Guam. Thank you for such a simple and delicious dish. To compliment the tomato soup, I also had a cold side of your egg salad recipe...phenomenal!!!! There are two things that I find most amazing about both recipes is that they are both simple to make and require a few ingredients...pure genus!!!! Both the egg salad and tomato soup recipe are definitely keepers!!!!!! Thank you!!!!

Raw tomato soup recipe
Yum! I made a version of this today and loved it. I am not big on following measurements and I used cilantro instead of sun dried tomatoes. Basically I threw some tomatoes , garlic, cilantro, cashews and water in the blender and turned it on. The result; heaven. Can't wait to try the red pepper (capsicum) soup next.
Thank you for the inspiration. This is my fave recipe site now.

Raw tomato soup recipe
This tomato soup is awesome! This was the first raw soup in my life. I have done it twice already and always for 2, so I doubled everything. But the second time I put in 1 cup of water instead of the 1 1/2 cup and added 1 extra tomato instead. Yummmm! I will try all your recipes. :))

For those who don't have a high quality blender, a trick to keep the cashews from gumming up the blender, and avoiding chunks, is to grind up just the cashews in a food processor first and then adding them to the blender with the rest of the ingredients. This is the first raw soup recipe I tried. The idea of cold soup (well, room temperature) kinda freaked me out but I didn't let myself think too hard about it and it was amazing! I gobbled it down. For a bit of extra texture and fun I added some pumpkin seeds.
