I know it’s a super simple recipe but if you use a real vanilla bean it tastes EXACTLY like an oreo cookie! Something about the raw chocolate and the vanilla bean together. Enjoy.

2 tablespoon soaked almonds
1 tablespoon raw cocoa nibs or cocoa powder

I just made a very similar version to this- I used the coconut meat instead of almonds, soaked dates for sweetener, (when I blended those with the vanilla and cacao before adding most of the water, I gave it a taste and it was like Oreo cream already) and I threw in a cup full of greens. It was amazing, I had this after a very hard morning workout and it made me feel soooo good. Thank you so much for this.

Not to be cliche, but drinking this is like being reborn. The flavors are beautiful, of course, but the way it makes me feel is just incredible. I've heard before that coconut water is the most hydrating substance, and cacao certainly increases energy, but my body did not really understand these concepts before drinking this. I continue to be amazed by what raw foods do for my body, mind and spirit. Thank you for this amazing recipe!

the young ones normally have a tan outer coating on them. they are normally cylindrical with a spiky tip on the top. TO get the water out you chop the top off about 2 inches from the tip. and drain it into a cup. The try and crack the nut in half and scoop out the meat :).

Just made this for Lovely Boyfriend (he hates it when I call him that) and me. I didn't have almonds, so I used the coconut meat,as Morning_theft suggested. Now I'm going to have to make it for the kids. This beat a traditional milkshake for me, cuz it took my energy up instead of down. Gotta try it with the greens some time.

This is the most awesome smoothie. Cookies and cream used to be my favorite ice cream.
Now I can make a raw smoothie just like it. Or even raw ice cream.
