Yield
About 15 Oreos
Ingredients
1 recipe chocolate version of Yummy Almond Cookies
2 cups raw cashews (soaked for 5 hours)
2 tablespoons raw cocoa powder (if you want the Oreo cream to be chocolate)
6 tablespoons maple syrup or raw agave nectar
Recipe Directions
1. To make the Oreo cream, blend the soaked cashews, cocoa powder (if using), and sweetener until a completely smooth cream appears.
2. Put a spoonful on one cookie and place another cookie on top.
3. Do this for as many cookies and cream as you have. Enjoy!
Rawclaire's Thoughts
By rawclaireThese really do taste like Oreos.
And you can use chocolate cookies with white or chocolate cream, or plain cookies with chocolate or white cream.
You can also make mint Oreos by adding 1 teaspoon or two to the cream.
Yummy!

Thank you for creating a recipe that does not include coconut! I bought some called "Raweeos" and they tasted like ivory soap. I am certainly going to make these!!

lol, many people say that Raweos taste like Ivory soap, probably because they aren't fresh. Coconut is actually very delicious, so don't be fooled by Raweos. Tell how they come out when you make them! :)

Chris S-your missing the young coconut thing. Have you ever gotten a young coconut with very Thick meat? It's truly delicious. Dont use a mature coconut for this recipe-it will ruin the flavor and texture. The coconut is actually optional, just if you want a creamier flavor. Yeah, I need to get a hammer. lol

Hehe sweetened cashew butter. Maybe a bit of vanilla bean or a nice extract added to the butter would give it that nice flavor. Well I have no trouble with a coconut. I do personally distain young coconut. The flavor just isnt what Im used to or want to grow to love. But a mature coconut is actually cheaper with about the same amount of meat in it as cashews of the same amount. Just trickier to open. But have hammer will smash.

Yeah, coconuts are A LOT of trouble-especially considering that I am too afraid of a cleaver to use one. lol What is everybody's favorite flavor of ice cream?

I'm glad there's no coconut too! Too much money, too much trouble and too much irradiation! These sound great.
