The Rawtarian's Thoughts

By The Rawtarian

I love adding beets to my fresh juices because they provide a lovely red color, a zingy flavor and they are inexpensive.

I keep a large, open bag of beets in my fridge.

Do wash your beets, but you don't have to peel them.

The juicer that I use is the Breville Juice Fountain.

Thanks, Angie. I do see the beets in the ingredient list - could you confirm that you do see them? I've got listed: 2 beets under the carrots and apples. You are right - choose smaller ones at first if you're not used to them!

The beet is missing in your ingredients list but would we need a small one? It's wise to start small with beets if you're not used to them. They have quite the effect on the body! Lol

I totally agree on your comment on coke however juicing 4 apples in a glass still has high sugar levels regardless as normally you wouldn't consume these in one hit.Don't you think laura everything should be in proportion ?

Thanks for your comments

Luv it... However I got 4 cups of juice instead of 2! I think the fruits are ok. I can eat 4 apples in one sitting becuase i am a raw foodist. 10 carrots isnt extreme either. Luv ur recipes.

Hi there
I have being juicing for awhile now and never use that amount of fruit in my juices .your beetroot juice has 4 apples and this you would never consume when eating them and 10 carrots. That is way too much sugar and even if its a natural sugar its still too much to consume daily .
I portion my juices according to what one would consume eating it .I will use Max half apple if combining other fruit to juice and then my vegies .Juicing is has many benefits but you need to know and understand the amounts you are juicing of each item because being a fruit or vegetable is healthy but all in proportion .
What is your opinion on this?

I like to meet people where they are…. Is drinking this juice better or worse than drinking a giant glass of Coke? I know where I stand on this :)

Fructose and glucose are not the same kings of sugars. If 4 apples and a lot of juiced carrots, raw and fresh, are too much for someone, I would imagine that they have issues with blood sugar metabolism, gallbladder, liver, and spleen, and maybe some other issues that iridology might reveal. Avoiding raw fruit is not the answer to healing weak or damaged body organs, imho.
