The Rawtarian's Thoughts
By The RawtarianDon't believe me that this could taste as good as old-school SAD (standard American diet) ranch? Just try it. I dare ya :)
Raw ranch dressing is another one of those things that I cannot believe it's possible to replicate raw. But, hallelujah, it is possible.
There is nothing like a nice fresh carrot dipped in raw ranch dressing, no?
And I have even had the pleasure of dipping my raw vegan pizza in raw ranch dressing. "Cue heavenly harp sound...."
So here's my favourite raw ranch dressing recipe for you... I use it basically like a normal salad dressing or dip. I usually make one batch and serve it as a vegetable dip, salad dressing and maybe even on a few more exciting things, like in a raw vegan BLT sandwich or dip raw pizza in it if I am feeling particularly daring.
Of course, you also know that the best vegetables to dip in raw ranch dressing are carrots and broccolli, right?

Haha, you had my defences up there, Christina! I'm really glad this was a success in your kitchen.

Raw ranch dressing recipe
Made this recipe just as written, amazing flavor .The creamy texture allow this to be a wonderful dip as well as a dressing. What I like the most about this recipe is that it allows one to change the seasonings and allow for you taste bud to be surprised. Thank you.

So glad you enjoyed this one, Deborah! What was your favorite flavor combo in terms of dipping? I love dipping carrots and broc in mine.

Raw ranch dressing recipe
This is the best ranch dressing on the internet. Would coconut sugar work instead of the liquid sweeteners?
The Rawtarian
Oct 24, 2015
Hi Amber! I have never used it so I can’t say for sure, but in short I can ‘t see why it wouldn’t work. Just start slowly because you don’t want to over-sweeten.

This was good but I think I will use less sweetener next time, and maybe a bit more garlic.

Raw ranch dressing recipe
Yes, I made it again! I used Date paste as the sweetener, and also, I used something called Rejuvelac in place of water... so it became a probiotic ranch dressing! Very very good!

Why did I take so long to make this?! I've had you app for a couple years now and have tried a good majority of your recipes, especially love your strawberry cheesecake btw, as the rest of my friends. This dressing goes in to my favorites pile. I substituted lime for lemon (I was out) along with coconut vinegar instead of apple. Threw half yellow pepper in and used cashew butter as I had no fresh nuts in house. WoW!

Hey, this recipe looks so good...i was wondering if i could add half an avocado to make this avocado ranch?? What do you think, would i mess it up or would it make it better?

Don’t mess with the recipe, lol. I, however, I have added “avocado ranch” to my recipes to make list - great idea! :)
Also, adding 1/2 an avo probably wouldn't be enough – you’d probably want to reduce the cashews and add like 2 avos – but I am not really suggesting this, just musing! :)

Raw ranch dressing recipe
This is fantastic! I was doubtful. I'm on a whole30 and we're going camping. I'm not a raw vegetable fan without dip. This will make my snacking time so much more doable. And my kids, who eat yogurt ranch on almost everything, really liked it. We'll definitely be making this instead (especially because it doesn't need the same refrigeration and will be much better in school lunches!). I added a few extra cashews because it was a little runny and i wanted it nice and thick. I also subbed a few dates for the syrups. THANK YOU.

Margie, so glad you all love the dressing! Veggies are better when dipped! :)

I don't eat legumes. Can I make this with a nut?
The Rawtarian
Aug 12, 2015
Hi Sueko, it's my understanding that, technically, cashews are not legumes but in fact seeds. But if you don't want to do cashews you can do macadamia nuts instead of the cashews. :)

Raw ranch dressing recipe
Thank you for this recipe! I'm just starting raw food eating and wanted something besides the basic vinaigrette for my salads. It's delicious! I didn't have onion powder and used half of a medium sweet onion. I think this will be my standard recipe for ranch dressing/dipping sauce

I haven't had a chance to go through all the comments but is there a way to use cashew milk instead of the cashews and water??
Thanks!

Hi Sonya, cashew milk would be too runny! :)
