I ran out of cocoa powder and wanted to make a chocolate smoothie, so I stuck some cocoa nibs in the coffee grinder and came up with this. It has the look and taste of a cookies and cream ice cream shake. All measurements are estimates!

What does mesquite taste like?
I'm terrified of it ever since I had mesquite chicken when I was younger. It was by far the most disgusting thing I've ever had in my entire life... I spit it out and threw up in the toilet.. haha TMI but..
can I substitute mesquite for something else? or is it not the same flavoring as "mesquite chicken?"

rainstorm> The mesquite has a malt flavor, not anything like that mesquite chicken you had!!! (I don't know what mesquite chicken tastes like, though...) I've made it a couple of times without the mesquite and used vanilla extract instead. It still tasted great to me...

This sounds so yummy but what the heck is mesquite?? I'm with rainstorm in that if it has anything to do with the flavoring on chicken, count me out.
