Ingredients

1 cup almond milk
5 tablespoons cocoa nibs (ground in coffee grinder)
1 banana (frozen)
2 teaspoons mesquite
Agave
Ice cubes

Recipe Directions

1. Throw everything in a Vitamix or other blender for 30-60 seconds and enjoy!

I ran out of cocoa powder and wanted to make a chocolate smoothie, so I stuck some cocoa nibs in the coffee grinder and came up with this.

It has the look and taste of a cookies and cream ice cream shake.

What does mesquite taste like?

I'm terrified of it ever since I had mesquite chicken when I was younger. It was by far the most disgusting thing I've ever had in my entire life... I spit it out and threw up in the toilet.. haha TMI but..

can I substitute mesquite for something else? or is it not the same flavoring as "mesquite chicken?"

This sounds so yummy but what the heck is mesquite?? I'm with rainstorm in that if it has anything to do with the flavoring on chicken, count me out.
