The Rawtarian's Thoughts
By The Rawtarian Don't believe me that this could taste as good as old-school SAD (standard American diet) ranch? Just try it. I dare ya :)
Raw ranch dressing is another one of those things that I cannot believe it's possible to replicate raw. But, hallelujah, it is possible.
There is nothing like a nice fresh carrot dipped in raw ranch dressing, no?
And I have even had the pleasure of dipping my raw vegan pizza in raw ranch dressing. "Cue heavenly harp sound...."
So here's my favourite raw ranch dressing recipe for you... I use it basically like a normal salad dressing or dip. I usually make one batch and serve it as a vegetable dip, salad dressing and maybe even on a few more exciting things, like in a raw vegan BLT sandwich or dip raw pizza in it if I am feeling particularly daring.
Of course, you also know that the best vegetables to dip in raw ranch dressing are carrots and broccolli, right?

Fresh or dried dill?
The Rawtarian

Fresh is ideal, but in this recipe I simply use dried.
(If using fresh, double the amount called for since fresh takes more volume than dried due to the moisture having been removed)

I put a green onion(scallion) in it as I don't have onion powder. I used a little less water because I like it thick. I used all the vinegar. DH and I love it.

I just made this and it is amazing!! I don't care for ACV, but know it is important for it to taste correct so I cut it to 1 TBS and added 1tsp of pepper. Wonderful!!!!! Just what I have been looking for. My husband and I went fully raw 2 months ago and our youngest daughter (9) is 90% raw, but my other daughter (18) wont eat anything in the fruit, veggie, nut and seed category, she is such a rebel lol. I am happy to report she told me she will be having a big salad with us for dinner if I use this dressing on it! Thank you so very much! I have been using many of your wonderful recipes and it has made it easy for us to get our life back!!! PS along with a LONG list of other disease and ailments we are both no longer considered diabetic!!!! Hugs!

Are you suppose to soak the cashews, or just throw in dry?

Curious about your recipes that do not require sugar or sweeteners. Thanks for your recipes.

Hi Leigh! Great question. I don't have a category for that, BUT you can use my super duper ingredient search.
You can do a detailed ingredient search on my website in a hard-to-find spot: use the search at the top (search for something, like dates), then click on the fork and knife icon beside the search box, then click the "more options" and there you can specify recipe ingredients. Or specify ingredients that you don't want!

Cashews gotta be soaked though to get rid of the enzyme inhibitors.

I love this recipe too!! I've made it about 5 times now! My husband and I grew up on ranch dressing. We smeared it on everything! Now that we are dairy and gluten free we were missing it and didn't even know it. Tonight I made it to put on kale that I'll be dehydrating. I'm curious to see how it turns out. Thanks so much!

Help! I made this recipe last night and tried to make 7 times the recipe and it is just not good. Tastes nothing like ranch. Wondering how I can tweet it today?

Also mine is not creamy. Will work blending it more today. Tastes sweet and too much dill I think. Any suggestions on how I can make it creamier? Hate to give up. I am a vegan.

I am also vegan & whenever my cashew based sauces/dips don't come out as creamy as I'd like them to due to my low-quality blender, I blend 1st and then transfer to a tall glass or container and puree with a hand blender. Beautiful, creamy results everytime :)
