Recipe Directions

Blend each ingredient layer separatly. Place each blended mixture in separate bowls. Prepare the layering process by getting a pie or casserole dish. Start with the lentil layer, then cashew cheese, tomato sauce and sliced veggies of choice, and repeat the process again until you run out of mixture. Top it all off with scallion sour cream, cilantro and sliced peppers.

A super tasty creation using sprouted lentils instead of beans in this raw version of a layered taco dish.

I was searching the section for recipes and came across this one. Just the title sounded very tasty so I knew that I would have to try and make it myself. I went to the local natural foods market and purchased all the required ingredients, I already had some mung and lentils sprouted so I used a combination of the two for the bean layer. When I finished the "cheese" making step I had a little taste of it and it tasted WONDERFUL. I have NO IDEA how someone could discover the ingredients to mix that would produce a taste that was so very similar to cheese. I would really like to know who took the time to test different ingredients and finally found the right recipe to make a topping that tasted like cheese but actually has none in it! Anyways I finished assembling the dish and it turned out FANTASTIC!! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe I enjoyed it a lot!
