Yield
1 serving
Ingredients
4 tablespoons tahini
3 tablespoons maple syrup (maple syrup is best for a real caramel taste)
4 Medjool dates
1 teaspoon sea salt
Dash of vanilla (optional)
Tart green apples (sliced, for dipping)
Recipe Directions
1. In a food processor, process together tahini, maple syrup, dates, sea salt, and vanilla till dates are fully blended in (it’s nice to soak dried dates in lemon water for an hour before mixing in).
2. Dip with sliced green apples.
Mish's Thoughts

Holy sweet tooth luxury! This is a dangerous recipe to make more of if you are alone in the house. Really much better than sad caramel sauce.
Adjust measurements to your own sweet/salty/tart tooth. Dip goes best with tart green apples.

Odalys, I was thinking the same thing! :) Oh, how I miss caramel apples around Halloween. I am going to sprinkle nuts on mine!
Mish, does this harden if you frig it?
Also, I wanted to ask if you bought the tahini or made your own? My guess is that it is the jarred stuff so I even though I make my own - it always tastes different than the jarred stuff so I think I will buy the jarred stuff so I get the right taste.:)

Hi Linda,
the apples are just for dipping.

This is great! Just in time for Halloween! :) I had a Raw Caramel Chocolate Brownie at a raw place a few months ago and the caramel part was so good. I always guessed it was made of dates and maybe agave but I wasn't sure what else! I am going to make this for the next raw potluck! :) Thanks!

Are the apples part of the recipe or just used for dipping as you show in the delicious looking picture?
