Yield
Serves 1
Ingredients
2 frozen bananas (peel and freeze the bananas in chunks about 10 hours or more prior to use)
2 tablespoons carob or cacao (not necessary, but yummy)
½ cup greens (could be spinach, chard, green cabbage, etc.)
1 slice coconut meat (I use a big chunk, blended to shreds in the blender)
¼ cup coconut milk, almond milk, or water
Recipe Directions
1. Blend some greens with almond milk and fresh coconut in the blender.
2. Add half of the frozen bananas and blend to a chunky paste.
3. Add carob and the rest of the bananas and blend until it has the texture of ice cream.
Peisinoe's Thoughts
By Peisinoe This is a yummy energy shake suitable for those of us who have physically active lifestyles!
The greens in this shake allow the sugars in the bananas to release slower for a more prolonged energy boost.
There are lots of minerals in this sucker!
This makes a great summer breakfast, and you can add lots of super foods, like mesquite meal, to it as well.
