Yield1 large smoothie
large handful spinach (or other dark green leaf veggies)
1 ripe banana
handful raw walnuts
handful raw pumpkin seeds
1 tbsp ground flax seed (or can use flax oil)
1/2 avocado (optional)
cup water (or more/less depending on how thick you want it)
Blend all ingredients in a blender until creamy. Nuts/seeds can be soaked ahead of time for reduced fat and extra digestibility.

This smoothie contains many of the omega 3 and 6 fatty acids we all strive to include in our diets. Flaxseeds or flax oil is the greatest non animal food source of these acids. The avocado and nuts/seeds are other good sources of various omega acids and make this very filling. Dark leefy greens are the other excellent source of omega 3’s. The banana’s sweetness makes this smoothie ideal for those who don’t want to totally taste their greens. (like me ;) Blueberries contain the most antioxidants of all fruits and are added for extra health benefits. I like alot of blueberrys so my smoothie has more of a red/purple color than green.
