Recipe Directions

1. Mix all ingredients, massaging the oil and nectar into mushrooms.

2. Let mushrooms marinate for 10 minutes-2 hours.

3. Dehydrate (100 Fahrenheit) until desired consistency. 1-3 hours tastes exactly like sauteed mushrooms.

I'm going to add salt, since I always sauteed mushrooms in salted butter. Thanks for the recipe. :)

Dear Emptdmom--all of the foods you mention you miss in your vegie stir fry

you can "cook" and get very similar taste just by adding your favorite vinegar,

chopped garlic, olive oil and fresh spices of your choice , dont forget Braggs

...jus sit over night...yummy

I heard Paul Stamets (world-reknowned mycologist) say that you should never eat any mushroom raw, they need to undergo some heat to deactivate the liver toxins. I don't know how much heat it takes to do that though! Those mushies do look delicious though, I'm sitting here working up an appetite salivating over that picture!

rawguitar -- that is interesting! as a kid, i hatedhatedhated sauteed mushrooms but i loved raw mushrooms, and as i got into more "junk" food, i trained myself to love sauteed mushrooms. I still consume raw mushrooms, not often, but i love them.

The cooked food I miss the most is a veggie stir fry with zucchini, squash, mushroons, onions, carrots, broccoli, etc. As soon as my Excalibur arrives I'm going to try this recipe with the additional veggies. I'll post the results. Thanks natural_vegan. I get hungry just looking at this picture.
