Raw brownie recipe

Shelf Life

Yield
1 dish brownies
Ingredients
- 1 cup pecans (you can use walnuts in a pinch, but pecans are much better!)
- 1 cup dates
- 5 tablespoons raw cacao (cocoa) powder
- 4 tablespoons shredded unsweetened coconut
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave nectar
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
Recipe Directions
- 1. Place pecans alone in your food processor and process until the pecans become small and crumbly.
- 2. Add dates to the raw brownie recipe and process again until the mixture sticks together and the dates are well processed.
- 3. Add the remaining ingredients to this raw brownie recipe and process again until the mixture turns a lovely dark chocolatey brown. Stop processing before it gets too buttery. (There should still be air between the small bits so that you will be able to press them down into your brownie pan.)
- 4. Dump the mixture into a brownie dish or small cake pan and press down firmly using your clean hands.
- 5. Refrigerate this raw brownie recipe for a couple of hours. You do not have to refrigerate it, but it is much easier to slice when chilled. By the way, this is actually a raw brownie recipe that keeps its shape! So it can be good for serving to non-raw fooders because the presentation of this raw brownie recipe is good when chilled.
- 6. Store this raw brownie recipe in the refrigerator if it lasts that long!
- PS: For an even more delightful brownie, serve it with this easy, instant raw chocolate icing.
The Rawtarian's Thoughts

Raw brownie recipe -- finally, a raw brownie recipe that tastes like REAL BROWNIES!
I am quite surprised and amazed at how the texture of this raw brownie recipe resembles real brownies--especially after this raw brownie recipe is refrigerated for about an hour or even longer.
My husband thinks this raw brownie recipe needs chocolate icing, but I disagree. I think it's perfect on its own! (But it is true, everything is better with raw chocolate icing on it.)
You can also use this raw brownie recipe as a pie crust or as very chocolately raw truffles.
Good luck trying to keep this raw brownie recipe around for longer than 24 hours. This vegan recipe would be good for about eight small servings. Feel free to double the recipe if you want more or if you want to make it last longer. (I usually double it.)
Advanced optional tip: Throw 1 tablespoon cacao nibs into the mixture after processing and before squishing into pan for fun crunchy texture!

Raw brownie recipe
Made this and am slowly eating the entire batch (is that bad?). Super good... it tastes like an overly undercooked brownie (my favorite).
Is this easily transportable (i.e., if I were to make it could I get away bringing it on to a 2-3 hour flight for a holiday party... a total of 5-6 hours out of the fridge)?

You are amazing wanting to bring your brownies on a flight. You must be super organized lol.
Yes, I think it would travel fine, much better than many of my recipes actually. Just put it back in fridge when you get there

Wonderful recipe!!!! My family loved them! I used walnuts, and they were still pretty good. Also, I made a raw chocolate icing to go on top, which was a big hit!!

Raw brownie recipe
Oh how much do I love these sticky, gooey, chocolatey slices of heaven? Amazingly I managed to make my first batch last by restricting myself and my lovely man to just one piece each per day (it took some willpower I can tell you!!),Was that too mean??? I'm just going to have to make some more right now. They really satisfy my chocolate cravings, and along with chocolate haystacks, these are my favourite things to make with raw cacao powder. Thanks so much for this recipe xxx BTW while I'm thinking about chocolate, what's happened to the "best raw chocolate cookies" recipe that you make in the dehydrator? I made these a couple of times and really enjoyed them but I can't find the recipe now. So sad.....

Raw brownie recipe
I'm very new to raw brownies and have made a couple of batches with walnuts but I think I prefer the pecan version. These are so easy to make with a great texture and chocolatey flavor. I'd love to try them with a peanut butter icing, as Joanne mentioned. Just have to watch how many of these you eat; dates have a lot of fiber! I'm taking some to the office for a coworker who is trying to cut back on processed sugar but who loves treats. Thank you for the recipe! :)

No I haven't tried the icing yet, but I did try the raw cheesecake recipe which was delicious - I just swapped the frozen strawberries for rasberries and maple syrup instead agave. Thank you! I'm pretty sure it will become a staple from now on. :)

Raw brownie recipe
Thank you! I FINALLY made these! I had been planning on making them for weeks and I made a double batch and am loving them! I hope my kids will enjoy them. I know my husband will. A friend of mine has a dessert party every December and last year I made vegan chile chocolate cake. This year I am bringing a raw dessert - these brownies! Next I am trying the vanilla drop cookies. I already have all the ingredients.
Love your podcast!!!

Raw brownie recipe
I made this, this evening. Topped it with the chocolate frosting. I also added a few pinches of cinnamon and a dash of chipotle to give it a Mexican chocolate flare. Also topped it with a few pomegranate seeds. Heavenly!!!!!

Raw brownie recipe
I had been postponing this recipe for so long (since the first time I entered to this site).
So today I decided it and I did it.
I can't believe how delicious these brownies are! Thank you so much I modified raisins instead of dates and ran out of coconut shredded, and still it was amazing!
My family is not quite supportive with me trying raw or vegan or different things, but they completely loved it!
So thank you so so much n.n

Well, I love desserts so I think I'm going to keep trying the Raw Lemon Bars or the Raw Chocolate Mousse or the Raw Chocolate Avocado Pudding. I'm not quite sure which one will be the first, but I'm excited to give 'em a try ;)
Also thinking about making some Raw taco meat or Raw tuna salad.
And by the way, the Raw chocolate truffles recipe sounds delicious. I'll, eventually, give them a try n.n

I love these brownies and have made them many times. Good variants include adding cacao nibs or a peanut butter icing. Thanks!
