Joined July 15, 2023I have been drawn to eating plant based foods for many years, and only recently spent a month on a course where we were fed 2 raw meals a day. I was fascinated at how raw red cabbage, served in every possible form, made me feel full and energetic. It wasn't quite that bad, there were a blend of raw veggies and fruits, nuts and seeds. When I came home, I decided to maintain it, most of the time. The 80/20 rule seems reasonable to me. Now I look for ways to make it interesting and easy. I expect winter will be a bigger challenge when soups are my "go to" meal and the temp is -10C outside. Personal stuff, I am retired, 16 years now, love gardening and puttering in the garden, reading, walking, and spending time with my granddaughters. In the past few years I have been learning more about herbal medicine and grow/forage or sometimes buy herbs to make tinctures, oils, honeys, vinegars and other interesting food medicines. Social media and communities can be fun, but I am not drawn to spend hours there. I look forward to learning more here.
